Here is a hand from CC freeroll , blinds 150/300 so still fairly early. I was chip leader and running well. I only have 79 hands on Villian, have him labeled as typical Freeroll player. I just want to know how the Mtt "regs" would approach this situation??

Hand History driven straight to this forum with DriveHUD Poker HUD & Database

NL Holdem $300(BB)
MP ($3535)
MP ($3870)
HJ ($5267)
CO ($8371)
BTN ($13808)
HERO ($23833)
BB ($5016)
UTG ($3258)

Dealt to Hero Q♥ Q♠

UTG Folds, MP Folds, MP Folds, HJ Folds, CO Raises To $1100 (Rem. Stack: 7241), BTN Folds, HERO Raises To $3150 (Rem. Stack: 20653), BB Folds, CO Raises To $7241 (allin) (Rem. Stack: 0), HERO Folds, CO $5191

CO wins $6840

ICMizer2 says it is not even close?? I guess because I have him covered , makes it even more so? Please advise, bigger 3-bet? Just shove over his open?? Thanks in advance

Isn't this a 'typical' hand where as chiplead your loss is limited to 30% of stack.
Only AA and KK are serious threats, even AK is a coin flip.
But I'm not a MTT reg...

Yes, I believe you are right. I just made huge mistake, but I was wondering if there is anything I could do different??

Thanks

No point of 3betting QQ vs his opening size, he is never folding. Just shove.

It was a 3.6 BB open?? Strange open for that point in tourney. You are probably correct. I am believing that I gave him way too much credit. I am sure he had A6 off suit LOL.

This.
Or a weaker play would be to call and shove on any flop, but I much prefer shoving. He'll call you with more combinations that you crush (99 through JJ, maybe even 88), then those that crush you (KK and AA). AK you flip and no ICM considerations are at play yet. So yeah, shove.

Fold cannot be an option here. It would be pretty rare for me to let go of QQ in a freeroll. If I calculated correctly you are getting like 2:1 but more than that you are probably way ahead of his range. Only 2 hands have you beat and he may be shoving down to 88 and even AJs, AQ. I have seen people shoving all kinds of crap in the middle stages of freerolls. There is even a slim chance this is 22+,Ax, QK kind of range although I would not assume that all of the time.

From the info I see, I would anticipate Ax at showdown. I think call, but I could be wrong. :pcguru:

Why fold? The amount of chips he had left meant he was likely gonna shove fairly wide. Unlikely he had aa or kk
