So here's a hand that I think was bad luck but i might have also played poorly and wanted to get a general consensus from the community:

Blinds at at 30/60, I'm in the BB with 0BB and get dealt pocket A. Two people limp in and SB calls. I raise 5BB and 1 of the limpers and the SB fold, the other limper shoves with 40BB. I call assuming he has either small pocket pair or low suited connected, maybe a suited ace, and call. He shows A9 suited (diamonds) flop comes 5dJh7h, turn is 10d and river is 2d and essentially knocks me out.

I assume this was just a bad beat with him getting the diamonds like that after missing the draw on the flop but should I have not called his shove? My thought was that I knew I had the best hand or at least the same hand as he did so the odds were already in my favor but should I have looked out for the straight or flush before hand?

My gosh is it tilting reading threads like this.

Why does showing the result of any hand you want analysis on improve the opinions you will get? Were you at all considering folding AA preflop before you called? If the answer to the latter question is no then this a huge waste of a thread.

Had your AA held up like it will here over 80% of the time, would you have made this thread?

You can throw a pair of aces pre-flop only in one case - a bubble and you do not have problems with going ahead. This is the only situation where the risk of flying out due to a bad blow makes any fold justified.

I agree, In this situation have no reason to fold preflop ... even vs all the table
