This seems worth a shot, but I would let it depend on my own image. If I've been rather tight up to this point and can expect the villain to have any idea of what he's doing, I probably lay this down as he probably has a better hand than mine.

well i had been raising quite wide as I was the table chip leader. I am almost certainly behind here but getting such a good price the question becomes how far behind is too far to call.

This can be found out by using pokerstove.

You are getting 2.36:1 to call

This means you need to win 1/3.36 times which is 29%.

Now just adjust his range in pokerstove until you win more than 29% and if you put him on worse than that a call is profitable.

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 30.724% 30.15% 00.58% 39748922 759770.00 { KdTh }
Hand 1: 69.276% 68.70% 00.58% 90578946 759770.00 { 88+, ATs+, KJs+, AQo+ }

This is obviously cutting it pretty fine but if you think his range is wider than 88+, ATs+, KJs+, AQo+ then you should be calling. If not, fold.

You should be thinking about this stuff before it happens. When you raised here with shortstacks behind, you should have your mind made up if your going to be calling a shove from the stacks behind you or not. Think ahead like a game of chess, "ok, if i raise here i'm folding to all shoves" or "if i raise here, i'm calling the shortie, folding to the other two" otherwise if you just mash the raise button then get shoved without thinking ahead, your going to be stuck there going "ummmmmmmmm, now what?"

um yea of course I knew when making the raise I was calling the shortie and folding to the blinds. I dont think you give me enough credit. I only posted the hand after being told what a bad play it was. I just wanted to find out what villain range would justify a fold here.
