felt like the tourney was slipping so did i make a bad call i do lose a lot with aj so maybe could use some suggestions .

I like the raise to 280 pre-flop, but when he came over the top maybe you got to lay it down. Your not in too bad of shape with 2 over cards to his 99, but you have to catch or your done. Folding when he re-raised you leaves you over 1000 chips to try to catch another hand.

But AJ hates me just as much as AK hates me, so Im not real fond of it either.

AJ is not a bad hand but I woulda fold here I wouldn't risk all my chips on it besides it's early in the tournament wait for something better.

Unless you had a read that the opponent liked to over shove with a wide range, this is a snap fold. Lately I have been folding AJo up to the BTN in unopened pots with my M<20. With your M=11 I'd be looking for better hands or better position to make a move.

ya, I dont like the opening of AJ os that early in position, with the blinds that low.

Easy enough to lay down IMO to the reraise, if you are going to open AJ, then you need to be able to lay it down to an all in.

Although that was your best chance to race a pair with two overs, so you do this again, maybe you win.

It is a freeroll, maybe the chance to pick up chips early will make the game worth while, so although the play was poor, it could be justified
