Middle of a tournament, blinds at 250/500. I am holding pocket 8's with about 10,000 in chips. One player goes all in with about 5500 in chips. I am the last. Call or fold?

What the average stack is? If twice or more than you have, you may call ministack all-in. His range is very large. You often are over him.

If the player has been playing lose and calls/raises with bad hands or has shoved before with a weaker hand then you could call.
If you feel you don't want to take a risk of coinflip and believe that you can build your stack without pre flop all-ins then it is a fold.

if anyone else didn't call then yeah i think you should call. pairs under 8s are not favorable but its ok if you called. but i somehow think you called and had a bad beat with an ace high shove, right?

if it's a middle phase i would call that, especially if your oponent was lose...It was not a bubble phase so building a stack seems reasonable to me. Nevertheless, this guy had around 10 bbs so very likely he showed with A and something...If you are my kind of player, snap call that next time ;) GL

I'm folding! More likely 9's or 10's or ak, Aq

No need for a flip at this stage. I'm calling maybe 4k

Man one hand is just one universe, there are many factors influencing in this situation, but I must say that ussualy fold in these situations.

I prefer not to risk my tournament with a border hand like 88.

There should be more info about this player...at least his position, from where he went all in...
If he is unknown/just joined to the table, I would fold.

Depends. If the opponent was playing too agressive all the time, I would risk it. But if he raises to your all-in in the next play, attention to the pot, dont hesitate to fold!!

for me depends on several things and one of which in this case the historical player on the table, aggressive or not, you play many hands, and as the play depends on the variants

Call, probably a flip and you still have chips if you lose. Folding is -EV

I would fold unless I knew the player has been playing loose the whole tournament.I would not risk 1/2 of my chips on a all in pre flop.If I was less than 10 BB I would call here.If it was a tight player it would be instant fold.

I think for that hand the risk does not pay, better to wait for a better hand, I would call with TT up.

I'll fold it for sure , it's too risky especially on a middle phase , in worst cases u'll be down to 10 BBs , I think it's really risky call

call or fold

I just go with two AA or KK, you have to know the player and play the hand based on that knowledge, with monster hands not think twice

What the average stack is? If twice or more than you have, you may call ministack all-in. His range is very large. You often are over him.

Yes, range is very large. But if you take the range of all-in hands is 22+, 99+, A2x+, K2x+, Q2x+, J9x+, T9x+, 56s, 67s, 68s, 78x, 89x, T8x, J8x then you got 64 hands of 1326 its 85:15%, 192 of 1326 - 70:30%. This is 156 dominated thee hands (11% of all hands). 240 of 1326 - 55:45% (coin flip) (18% of all hands). And only 36 of 1326 - 15:85% dominant over you (0,03% of all hands)

So, with 20bb you must call all coin flip hands as this is the solution with the plus sign imho. That is 396 vs 36 hands or 91% of 100% to call.

My answer is call ;)

it all depends on what position he moved all in. if in the beginning or middle of the table if the fold of the last position is called.
