Always loosing with AA

Hello guys. Just wanted to know if you guys have any experience with the AA hand. First of all I never get it But secondly I don't want it neither coz I always loose with AA.

I was playing in a tourney @ Betfred (I'm Bozzaap). Had to earn some chips and I was the first to call the big blind. I raised with 20, snook357 raised my 40 with another 40 and tunkpirate7 did all-in (can't blaime him, had KK.. nice hand ). I just had to call the all in with my AA coz name an another hand thats better to call an all in from someone?

That snook-dude also called. Like you can see the flop looked very nice. Made Three Of A Kind. But when I saw that 7 9 I realized that the chance was big that something spectacular was about to happend (like a lot of times with online tourneys).

As you can see, snook made a very spectacular straight. I don't even know why he called the all in while I allready called but the way how he made the straight is too much for me. It just sucks, giving me hope with the third ace and then 7 8 9 10 :thumpdown

Just wanted to share this with you coz I allways loose with AA

Just to let you know, ACES DONT WIN EVERY TIME!!!! Even 72 offsuit breaks aces 11% of the time!

In the pot you described you were 66% to win the pot preflop...pretty good odds but by no means a lock to win the pot.

After the flop you were a 93% favorite to win, still not a lock but you are in control of the hand.

After the turn you are an 81% chance to win, this means that ~8 out of every ten times in this situation you will win and you will lose twice.

You took a bad beat, there is no question about that, however you MUST REALIZE that pocket aces DO NOT WIN EVERY TIME!!!

Nah offcourse not. I get your point. But it's just the person who won the hand. All in with 6Q and getting a straight. If the KK would have beaten me I could live with that but this just sucks.

Could have been 7-2o and beaten you. You got sucked out on. Should the guy have even been in the hand with a Q-6? Nope, but it happens all the time. Take the beat and move on. The important part is that you got your money in the pot with the best hand. As long as you play the hand like you did, you will win way more often than not.

Try to think about it like this; as long as people are calling all-in raises with trash like Q-6, you will always have players to take pots off of. You're bankroll depends on these fish for survival.

Hehe, that's nicely said diablo! And you are right, I allready moved on, had a few nice tourneys last night so 1 bad tourney is allright. Just thought it was funny so I posted it with a screenshot

That snook guy re-raised and called an all-in with Q6s? Play with him more often, he'll fund your kids through college.

aaaaw hate it when that happens. That is why I usually only call all-in with Bullits. would have gone in after the flop though ,) which might have gotten those pesky followers to fold.

It was a freeroll tourney so no buy-in. That explains offcourse why that snook dude went all in He had nothing to lose

But on the other hand.. he will probably play freerolls for the rest of his life lol

exactly, ppl like that will never learn and will remain in the freerolls for the rest of their lives.

didn't think it was a buy-in...no wonder the guy went all in
you can't expect to win with Ks or As all the time...especially early in a freeroll in a three way all in pot.
it was unfortunate but you got to expect that in a freeroll

People dont understand that AA is not a 100% win. It kan go down and it does many tiems. If any opponet has a chance of winning, it could happen which it does. AA is still the best hand pre flop, but after anything can win!

Never a certainty

I have lost so many AA hands and its always in the freerolls (which is all I play at the moment). Its very frustrating and like you, have been beaten by what we would call crap hands. But as one guy said, it is the best hand pre-flop but after that anything can happen.

Its hands like that one that make people think online games are rigged. If it had been a regular money game he would have never stayed in and the world would have been right. The more junk players at a table the more bad beats and the more it "seems" rigged

Are you referring to me? Coz I never said that I had to win this hand. I said that if the 2 kings would have won it's ok by me, sucks tho coz I had the better hand but that's the fun of the game, you can expect to win with the best hand. But that dude won with nothing while I had AAA.

And it ain't the first time I lost with AA as starting hand. To be true, I can't remember a winning game with AA as a hand :stupid: .

But life goes on hehe. Made some money with other freerolls so I am now playing on a Texas Hold'em NL Table ($0.25 - $0.50, you have to start somewhere ).

Nothing you can do about that you got your money in with the best hand, bad luck

What you can never forget is that AA is only the best PRE-FLOP hand. After the flop, anything can and does happen. I've laid down aces, kings and queens many times when the flop didn't improve them and put a flush or straight on the board...

I definately agree with you Dave, only things is that the flop only made me stronger lol. AAA after the flop

But anyways, I learned from it and that's the most important thing!

AA

well i have a story about the same way with AA but it was a 20/40 limit game at the casino.... i had A A in the bb and the guy in 3 seat raises it up... everyone folds to me so i reraise it and he smooth calls....the flop comes 10s 8c 3h...a beautiful flop for me. i bet and he calls,,, the turn comes a 2c..... i bet he calls.....and then the river..........5c..........i bet and he raises.... he shows kj clubs.....yes i was furious....lol then i flopped a set of aces and another guy hit quads on the river.....all within 5 hands of each other....

I've been booted out of 3 Paradise tournaments when dealt pocket aces. One of them i was making my way to the top 10, steadily, too. But hell.. are you gonna fold them?

AA is a demon of a hand. I hate going all in before the flop so the full starting strength of this hand is lost on me. The way I always look at is early in a tourney I will have no problem throwing away AA, if there is a major threat to my survival. Don't get married to any pair, even the holy bullets. And I would think very carefully about going all in to a pot with any more than three people.
Next time I get them will I listen to my own advice...probably not but that's poker!

Its tough to fold em. Pocket K's are the devil. I lost with them twice in one day, both nice pots. Lost to aces once and a straight once. I get discouraged when people play bad and I have them crushed and they end up pullin a card outta there you know what and beating me. Happens a good amount of time, people getting rewarded for taking risks. Oh well...
