Hi.

For some reason my PokerTracker didnt record the hand but here goes.

UTG+1 - raises 2,5x ( 16 bbs in total)

MP - Reraise 3x ( 34 bbs in total )

Hero - All in shove ( AK 19 bbs in total ).

- Im very unsure if the shove was a right play because of ICM.

We had 2 small stacks at the table with 6-7 bbs, and massive pay-jumps.

Would you fold AK, or would just shove?

I think it's an ok shove (unless you;ve ssen ops to be nits). There are ALOT of worst hands than AK that will be raiseing/3betting here that you have tons of equity

it's hard to say, the action could be because of pair vs pair and AK.
It seem that you have been one of the shorter stacks at the table. So why wait for a better starting hand?
if I get nervous because of the action before and I can get to the next payout step, maybe perhaps I would fold AK ..

I'd be inclined to sit this one out.

I don't know how aggressive the twp pre-flop raisers were tending to be post, but if there's a reasonable chance that one of them is going to bust, or end up quite short, you'd like to be sure to be around to play afterwards. Plus, the two short players are much shorter than you, and one or the other will have to play a big hand soon, perhaps with less than premium cards.

odds are that one of the villains has a big pair and the other has a big AX. That means 2 - 3 Aces accounted for pre-flop, so the chances are that you're not going to pair your Ace post.

I was 4 out of 9.

Have to take into consideration its a turbo also. I just dont know if I should have waited for a better "spot". AK is a strong preflop hand, but compared to the massive pay-jumps combined with the 2 short stacks im a bit confused.

If it wasnt the final table of course i would any day shove, but is ICM so high a factor that you lay down these monsters in this certain spot for potential massive pay-jumps?

Tough spot. If you have the stack sizes (in the site's hand history) and the pay structure you can enter the info into ICMizer (free trial) for the answer.

You don't mention anything about the players.
At the table, if the MP looks like a TAG or a nit, I'd fold. But I'm not sure that is correct.

Live to fight another day. Everyone will have different answers on this. If you've got a chance to ladder just by folding a hand, why not. AK is a great starting hand but it doesn't even beat 22 unless it improves. Theoretically I think either choice can be a good decision as long as you have a plan of how that decision will make you more money$$

Especially in a turbo with there being 9 left, I get it in with AK here. AQ would be a fold without question.
