9 players, 100/200/25
UTG, Villian UTG+1, CO limp
Hero (~40bb) limp at button with Ah9s
SB, BB limp
Flop AcKsJc
Villian bet 600
CO fold
Hero 3-bet 1850
All fold to Villian, he shoves in 10 seconds, and got hero covered.

Should hero better flat the flop?
As play, should hero call with a top pair to a 4-bet shove?

I do not like limping back pre flop on BTN. I would rather raise 3x pre to isolate the range of the limpers. You can leverage ur range and position against the limpers post flop.
On the flop, with the limp action pre, I would definitely call on the wet board like that. You should take control of the pot and pray for your hand to win at show down. (If draws wouldn't be completed at the next streets)

By raising, you basically missed the show down value of your holding and you can not call the shove. At this stage, it would be an easy fold.

Lots of KJ, Q10, and flush draws in his range (though I don't know if it makes sense for him to bet the draws initially). With the flush draw out there, this is how I'd play 2pair or straight if I was villain, to protect my hand and charge draws. I don't think I'd be able to hero call that unless you have a great read on the opponent.

flat the card. i would fold Ah9s at the first look. it is so tricky especially with flops like this. but if you want to play it, raise 3x or 4x to get rid of limpers.

raise pre. sizing depends on stack sizes of your opponents. do not limp with A9

as played. flat the flop do not raise. when you raise here you have to think about what hands he calls with. your raise forces him to fold all of the hands your trying to get value from and he never calls with a hand worse than yours.

some terminology: your raise is a 2bet on the flop not a 3bet (its the second bet) and villains reraise is a 3bet, not a 4bet (its the 3rd bet). this is different than preflop. the reason the opening raise preflop is called a 2bet is because the blinds are actually considered the first bet.

as played, fold to the shove, again, think about what hands does he do this with and how many of those hands do you beat.

Fold pre.

Then call flop. Such a wet board. And re-evaluate on turn. Basically playing a single pair of aces with mid kicker. x/f turn if it becomes wetter, maybe x/call turn if its dry. i still fold pre or just call one street on flop.

Raise or fold pre , by limpng you gain absolutelly no information , you dont have intitiative in the hand and going multiway with a hand that has massive reverse implied odds .

By limping you have no idea of where you are in the hand post flop on any texture , if for instance the flop came down A 7 2 rainbow or K 7 10 , how good is your A when you get action in a limped multi way pot ?

By rasing you are showing initiative - making your perceived range stronger , have the ability to pick up the blinds uncontested , gaining information to assign a possible range of villain.

As played never raising the flop on this board , your only getting called or raised by better or up against hands that have a high equity.
