Tournament: $50 Local Buy In with plenty of recreational players

Hand: A♣7♣ Position: HJ Stack EF: 7,000 (35bbs) Blinds: 100/200 20 min

Notes: Haven’t played with these people before, no real behaviour tendencies
Pot: 300

Action Preflop: Hero(HJ) makes it 550, CO calls, BB calls
Pot: 1750

FLOP: A♥ 8♠ 5♥

Action Flop: Hero(HJ)?

Questions
Anyone check here or standard cbet?
If cbet called my equity reduces quite a bit. Cbet standard with a larger ace?
Thanks

Go for two streets of value here. Yes you may be up against a better ace but recreational players will chase draws like crazy in the early stages of tournaments.

I’m definitely betting the flop for about 1k and will be looking to check back the turn or the river depending on how the board runs out.

Top pair but week kicker. I would c-bet here for value and fold to a re-raise.

If called by the CO I would bet the turn about 1/2 the time but I would check call a reasonable bet from the CO on the turn. On the river if I had bet and he called I would check and probably fold to a river bet until I knew the player better. Being out of position i would be more careful.

If called by the BB I would c-bet the turn every time and check down the river.

If both called I wont bet on the turn most likely but would check call and see what develops on the river. With 2 callers we have to be very concerned someone has an Ace and most likely the better kicker.

Yeah I just thought a delayed cbet might be best here because of the MW flop and I don't think I'm getting called by too much especially at this stack size. And when called I'm not good often .

There calling range something like better ace, two pair, 88, 55 or a FD and a few GS.

Very hard to bet flop and turn, so check flop or turn?

Value may be there on the flop but not turn.

Can play either way, depends on CO. If co is aggressive I like chk, they they are passive i prefer bet.

I would bet around 50% pot.

Im definitely going to make some sort of cbet here. Most likely 50-60% of the pot.
