Not quite sure where I am in this hand. I think I should have bet more on the turn, but was I right to check the river when theres as many straights on the board? I feel like in this player pool straight draws are going to be sticky...

Early in the tourny

starting chips are 7,500 with 20 minute blind levels and a 5k GTD prize pool

fold flop, he's raised preflop and your hand has terrible reverse implied odds feel about it. Like even if you hit a king or Q you're never really happy and you can get stuck calling turn/river bets with one pair type hands.

as played check turn and keep it small, pick off river bluffs. Since you bet turn and we rivered two pair there is some value out there to be had, but we're in all sorts if we bet and he jams over, but i think value betting is still the way to go, somehting small like 30% of the pot would suffice to get value from all of his two pair type hands and also sticky one pair hands. But checking is also quite fine, especially if players in these stakes tend to overvalue/jam two pair hands forcing us to fold.

Good points, I felt like I had enough implied odds to call. Results show that it paid off, however I do suppose I can see that king or any other cards to a straight board killing the action a lot of times and putting us in awkward spots in the river like you said. I do think players in these stakes tend to overvalue two pair hands, I see people stack off deep with two pair all the time on the flop. But I think the straight board might prevent him from jamming on this river. The queen definitely kills a lot of action that the king didn't already kill..
