Range Confusion
****************
$1500 GTD Rebuy Tournament
$5.50 Buy In
****************
Villain is LAG
The money bubble has already burst.

$2000/$4000+400, 5 players remaining...

SB: $315,559
BB (Hero): $131,585 with 8♥️6♦️

HI: $229,359
CO: $108,430
BTN(Villain): $61,832

SB posts $2,000 ($313,159 left).
BB posts $4,000 ($127,185 left).
HI folds ($228,959 left).
CO folds ($108,030 left).
Villain raises to $8,000 ($53,432 left).
SB folds ($313,159 left).

Should I call, raise or all in? What kind of range would the Villain have with a 15 BB stack min raise, but not shove all in?

I believe you should fold here.

1. Your hand is easily dominated
2. Villian has obviously got a hand that he doesn't want to scare anyone off with a shove
3. Do you really want to shove with 86o as that's what's going to end up happening

Villain's range could be as weak as a small suited Ace, and as strong as AA. He's shoving all medium pocket pairs probably up to JJ, so he's either got a monster pair and is trying to induce a shove, or he's got a hand worth raising with from late position, but not necessarily willing to call all-ins with (KTs, QJs, small Aces).

I think a call here is OK. I would probably just fold though. Never shove.

Calling is fine, you're getting a great price. This hand should not be in our shove over the top range.

Continuing...

BB calls $4,000 ($123,135 left).

Flop (pot: $20,000) - K[emoji3532] 8[emoji3532]9[emoji3532]
BB checks ($123,135 left).
BTN bets $11,000 ($42,432 left).

Has his range changed? Should I call or raise?

Call will be better always here.
You can try to push, but you must see so many folds by villain for +EV.....
About fold.... you have just a good chance of bank

Is his minbet out of the ordinary or is he always opening for a min off a 15bb stack?

If it's his norm- have to just shove it in preflop and get 16k most of the time and have suckout outs the rest of the time.

If it's out of the ordinary I am ok with either folding if you aren't happy playing this postflop vs a small effective stack or calling and defending if you are happy playing it preflop vs his stack size. Honestly probably folding is best since you can't really make a mistake postflop at all without doubling him up.

If readless, I still jam it because screw that guy. He opened for a minraise from the button on my BB.

Great spot to defend the bb getting very good odds.

Once we see the flop and face aggression we can fold here, although it is close.
