Checking the turn left me open to a donk bluff on the river, river was the worst card to come down.

What would you of done different bet sizing etc

bet turn and check back rivers

your line is pretty good but we leave ourselves open to be bluffed and we also miss value as we can rarely bet river and get paid.

Yeah the turn check was a bad move and when the Q came on the river theres no other choice then check folding. Assuming he had a K or flush it's just a cooler and glad I probably lost the minimal.

a cooler is when neither player can avoid things, like a nutted hand vs a second nutted hand, or AA vs KK, that's a cooler.

checking back is ok since not all river cards will be Kx or clubs. So you can safely pick off bluffs on rivers here. So if your opponant is bluffy you can check it to both pot control and pick up value on bluffs. it's not a horrible line really. without that info it's best to obviously just bet it and keep it simple.

I dont know how agressive is the vilain. But I feel strange with his 13bb bet on river. I cannot see him nuts in this pot.
He would call your Cbet on flop assuming that you dont have strong aces because you just call him on preflop street.. On turn, your check took you away from a lot of good hands like TT+, AT+. He put you in 99-, justifying his overbet on river. If he have the K or Flush, he maybe will make a very small bet likes 2,5 or 3BB waiting your bluffcatch call, he want you to call or raise him (vilain flush). I think he has a AJ- ace clubs or JJ-. Maybe if you shove he drop out his hand. Off course, according how they saw your playstyle before that.

villian was fairly aggro with a VP of 49, when the 4 straight came down it was too easy for his hand to be dominating mine

I think he has a set, dominating you. But I would try to bluff him with a shove, cause some marginal hands in your range (assuming your moves along the streets) you can have tricky hands like K9+ or suited conectors with clubs.

Cash games yeah I would maybe be a good spot for a bluff but mtt tis not worth the risk if you put him on a set with a vp of 50+ is he really going to fold a set probably not then we would be chipped down.

Sure, sure! As I wrote before, I dont know the image you create in table about yourself, or how is his fold to 3bet stats, how many times you both fought for a pot. Everything have some weight to put in balance. Of course you make a good decision :)
