this is a 9max SnG on ACR. I have the chip lead, went a bit aggressive pre flop with a suited A, and hit a very good flop, made standard C-bet got called of, same story on the turn. River was the worse card in the deck for me probably. For several days, I have been playing these SnGs and am doing very well, getting ITM 75% of the time. I almost always have it when it comes to showdown, and I have played against this particular player before. I would say he is a good player, TAG playing very good IP as far as I could tell so far.

I want to know your opinion, whether this was a call on the river or not. Consider the hands my opponent can have. Also, should I sometimes check this turn for bit of a pot control?

I would have raised 2-2.5x preflop to 100-125 just keeps the pot a little smaller.

I would have lead the flop for half so about 137 of the 275.

Check the turn for pot control. Calling if he bets with nut flush draw.

If he bets the turn then I'm check/calling small river bets and folding to pot size or greater.
If he checks the turn behind us then I'm betting like 1/3 and folding to a raise on the river.

This is all considering the TAG player you have villain noted as.

He could be bluffing a flush draw, isn't he? Betting pot on river for value with trips looks weird if he wants to get called. As said before, I also think betting 1/3 pot on river was better than checking

I like to mix in some flop check raises here. Villain knows that you are the chip leader, and can be and probably are opening a bit wider than normal. Ace high boards are good bait for players to bet when checked too, plus you have huge equity here if he has a better Ace than you, but which Ace would that be?

AK definitely 3 bets pre, AQ probably 3 bets as well, A9 you are free rolling against, besides AJ and A4 that flop two pair, you are crushing his Ax range. AT is a tough call here when getting check raised, so only two Ax combinations to be fearing and of course the 44 for a set, JJ would also 3 bet pre flop.

I can see this player having a lot of broadway cards and would bet them when checked to. Ideal scenario is this guy has a hand like :kd4: :qd4: and you get it all in having him crushed to 3 outs
