Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 30/19/3.7

We are heads up and V was more aggressive than me in this headsup battle and previously.

Payout is $60 for 2nd and $100 for 1st.

I minraise A9o on the BTN and the V calls.

On an Ace high flop, I bet half pot and get called.

Here's the preflop and flop action.
Game started at: 2017/5/12 15:51:16
Game ID: 911689855 3000/6000 $200 GTD Turbo, Table 2 (Hold'em)
Seat 4 is the button
Seat 4: HERO (159026).
Seat 5: VILLAIN (270974).
Player VILLAIN ante (600)
Player HERO ante (600)
Player HERO has small blind (3000)
Player VILLAIN has big blind (6000)
Player VILLAIN received a card.
Player VILLAIN received a card.
Player HERO received card: [As]
Player HERO received card: [9c]
Player HERO raises (9000)
Player VILLAIN calls (6000)
*** FLOP ***: [Kc Ad 2d]
Player VILLAIN checks
Player HERO bets (12600)
Player VILLAIN calls (12600)

All pretty standard here.

The turn action is where it gets interesting.

V donk leads for half pot on a pseudo-blank unless he has the gutshot.

*** TURN ***: [Kc Ad 2d] [3c]
Player VILLAIN bets (25200)

What would you do here?

This felt like a probe bet or draw trying to set it's price. so I ripped and I got called.

Fist pump on the jam. Demoralized with the river.

Should I play this more conservative since I'm in position?

Player HERO allin (133826)
Player VILLAIN calls (108626)
*** RIVER ***: [Kc Ad 2d 3c] [2c]
------ Summary ------

Stealing aggression on the turn is most likely an indication of 2 pairs plus w strong draw! In this spot, I would rather call the turn bet and win the hand at the showdown on such a wet board!

Basically, I would like to call and re-evaluate the pot at the river depending on the V bet sizing and river card. if he bet more than 1/2 pot again, I would consider folding at the river!

I think it's kind of a difficult spot. The problem is, what do you beat? There is a straight, a flush maybe a better ace that beats you. I should fold, considering that you will probably find yourself in a better spot, but thats the problem after you face the allin. I should call the the bet just ta make sure he can't reraise you. You only have toppair so everything you face as reraise beats you i think.

I think jamming the turn is better than waiting, there are a lot of bad rivers for your hand - four to a straight or one of the flush draws completing to give you a tough decision.

There are enough worse Ax and Kx hands (and flush draws) that will call your shove to make it profitable. You avoid the guessing game on the river and get value from draws.

Use any previous history though - if they would only lead good aces (and slowplay preflop?) and two pair plus on the turn you can happily fold.

GL to you! :D

I can't see this guy donking on a blank unless he can beat top pair. He's got to put you on an ace, right? If so do you think he thinks he can bluff you off of it? I can tell you I've lost a lot of chips betting into hands like this. A draw? He's giving himself 2:1. I think on the turn he's telling you he's got you beat.

1/3rd pot on flop. Call turn.

trent, why do you bet 1/3rd pot in this spot?

Are you planning on triple barreling 1/3rd pot on blank run outs?

is this kicker related?

You must call here. And you must call normal bet size by VILLAIN on the river

I'm betting 1/3rd pot with my entire range cause we have a huge range advantage on an AK2dd. We are going to be cbetting this flop with air 100% of the time so betting small allows us a cheaper price on our bluff cbets while allowing us to play with a higher postflop SPR. Top pair also does not need a lot of protection here. On a flop like 976dd for example, we would want to cbet something like 50-70% pot as our range needs more protection.
