Why are we cold calling an EP open with K8o and 5 players behind?

Flop call is standard, as is the turn given the price.

Why are you calling this river facing a triple barrel from a player that opened in EP when the flush AND an ace hits the river?

You need a pretty solid read here to make this call, as the only thing you really beat here is 98. This river absolutely nails your opponent's range, and there isn't really any play you can make on this river besides fold (bluff shoving would be bad even). How your opponent played this hand doesn't affect you, you need to focus on how you played the hand and what adjustments you can make in the future.

Are you including yourself in this statement?

Pretty much says it all. Both you and your villain should've mucked preflop! Maybe he was trying to steal when table plays too tight. If that is the case you should have 3-bet preflop.

Also, I would check raise flop if you think he is loose.

?? Call K8, then just call all the way??? It is fold preflop, but if you miscliklcked :) and call, after the flop need to 3bet, and see is K good enough!! This way bad bluff became wining hand...
