Hello people.

For my first hand analaysis post, i've picked one that busted me from this tourney today.

I only have 20 hands on villain so had no real read on him.

Was anything about this hand ok? I can take the critisism :)

Hey Jaykay :)..i will say my opinion about your hand,so lets start..i dont disagree with your lead bet on flop..you have top pair in a limp pot so most of times you are ahead and you will take the pot immidiately...you could check/call also if he bets,or if it goes check/check you could bet on a brick turn..Anyway villain called you on flop and on turn come 9 of hearts..i think villain's flop calling range are flushdraws, small Ax with Ace of Heart,,A7o,(maybe A2o also),some not heart suited Kx hands (like K6s or K8s for example),some offsuit Kx (like K9-KTo),some other 7x hands like 78 that villains dont fold from one bet street..i would check on the turn for pot control because if you bet and you get called(as it happened) you are committed to pot and you are out of position for a difficult decision on river..also there are some scary cards that can come on river like any heart,or ace that makes your hand almost worthless..on River an Ace came, you check and villain shoves..i think you dont beat anything..if he didnt hit flush on turn, all his turn floats with Ace high hits now..so if he doesnt do any total no sense bluff,i dont see with which combinations he called on flop and turn, and on this river shoves as a bluff because he missed..i can think only QJo and JTo with one card of them heart, which could have backdoor straight draw and flush draw, and turn was ideal as it gives gutshot and flush draw...so i would fold on river..i hope i helped a little..good luck at the tables :)

He paid too much for only a pair of King, he should have been a little more cautious, at first he considered a flush draw, then good to say if he confirmed, and by hitting 9, Q 10 or J 10, they would play well over his single pair, well I would think so ...

Thank you for the reply. Makes a lot of sense now. It was the limp from early position that affected the range i put him on and quite frankly i clearly have made a bit of a mess of it and got my appropriate outcome!

Unfortunately your opponent extracted the max value from his flush. The 9h should make you slow down. I would stop chasing the chips in the middle after my lead on the flop. Even your top pair here is too weak with the 5 kicker.
