This is a wsop Circuit $365 ring event

My Table is very easy/passive. I’ve chipped up a bit to about 15k from a 10k starting stack.

Blinds 50/100.

3 limpers and I’m the SB with :7d4::3d4: I limp along (this is fairly out of line but they’re fairly bad and the BB is never squeezing light. He'll probably check AT and raise AQ I don't know about AJ)

BB checks his option and it’s 5 players to a flop.

Pot 500 flop :9d4::8c4::5s4:

It checks around

Turn :6h4:

I’ve binked the straight! These guys are such stations so I toss in 500 trying to make it look super casual like I’m buying the pot. BB flats and Button flats.

Pot contains 2000 3 players. River brings :4s4: for a final board of :9d4::8c4::5s4::6h4::4s4:

I lead 1,000 into 2,000. BB raises to 2,000. Button folds. I toss in the call basically knowing he’ll show me T7.

Question: I still have to call the river, right? I mean obviously the price is amazing but he also basically always has T7. I guess occasionally we chop. Is that a good enough reason to call?

I think you're chopping a lot more than you're beat and also if you think that they think you're trying to buy the pot he may think he can take the pot down with a min raise. But yeah you did the right thing, sigh and call.

I would hope at a $365 WSOP ring event that BB has T7. But you never know. Hard to misread that board, but a call of a value bet of unsqueezed PP that hit a set, or value bet bluff can put your stack to >18K while risking 7.5% of your remaining stack. I think you chop a fair percentage of the time. Playing strangers at small stakes, I always snap call in this situation.

we are getting 5-1 on a call, but because you expect we are at best chopping we need 18% equity to break even. so we need to see a naked 7 at least 36% of the time to break even on a call (ignoring icm etc). personally im usually calling just because i expect villain to tool out with 44 etc some % of the time and outright winning even 5% of the time means we need a chop 26% of the time etc.
