We are 3 players left to a small MTT tournament.
We just got into the money.

Stack sizes :
Hero : 70k
Villain : 45k
Other player : 135k+

BB : 2000/4000/500 ante

Hero is in the SB with : A3 (spades)

Other player : fold
Hero : raises to 9k
BB (Villain) : Raises to 20k
Hero calls

Flops come : 8 4 3 (Rainbow)

Hero : Checks
Villain is a old semi-lag bad rec and shuv allin remaning 25k.

With that board and board texture I fell like he could easily have any two broadway cards and that he was planning to jam any flop.

What are your toughts on this call or fold?

According to given info about your opponent, call is normal decision.

I think you'd be better off jamming pre-flop for 11bb effective than choosing to make such a small raise and then calling the 3-bet here.

Had your opponent 3-bet jammed I'd be happier with a call than with this sizing which shows a lot of strength.

As played you flopped a pair and probably have outs if you are behind but you'll be behind pretty often here. Villain bet 25k into 41.5K so you have to call 25 to win 66.5 or about 2.6 or 2.7 to 1 odds... I probably call here but don't like it.

Good luck to you! :D

ideally, you'd just jam pre for 11bb effective. as played call. you're beating AK/AQ/AJ/KQ all hands that would 3bet and if he has a bigger pair you've got outs. stacks are just too shallow to be folding pairs.

he's probably gonna show you a monster BTW...but these spots just play themselves. your pot odds are too good and we can't give our opponents credit for always behaving logically.

- Jam pre flop. Standard. 11BB 3 handed.
- You bet and got 3bet- either fold or shove. (though earlier option is obviously superior)
- As played, if you checked to induce, you got what you wanted, hence you must call. I don't see how you could check fold here. Its not the best scenario but you have pot odds.

That would be a value call there, i would call without much to think about there. However, preflop play from your end is a bit questionable, you should either fold or shove

Fold, villain could have a small pocket pair, the reason for a large raise.
