£30 NLHE MTT Turbo: bubble stage short stack shove decision with JJ facing open raise from EP

Live satellite turbo structure, 15 mins clock
Top 14 players got paid £220 equivalent ticket and 15th got £71

Remaining players:18

9 players at my table

UTG ~13 BB
UTG +1, ~35BB, TAG, folded AKo when facing 3bet shove from 20BB stack player
BB ~7.5BB

UTG limped, UTG+1 raised to 3BB, all folded to Big Blind (Hero) dealt with JJ.

I put UTG+1 on AJs,AQ+ and TT+. UTG does not seem very confident so I believed he would fold even I didn't shove.

If this is normal tournament payout structure, I would shove immediately but find it tricky here. Another 2 players at my table are <10BB but I am not sure another table. If only 16 remaining I wouldn't shove as well.

Appreciate any thoughts.

I shoved with JJ and UTG folded. UTG+1 called with AKs

7.5bb got to go in the middle, no hesitation. UTG+1 with his stack probably just isolating the UTG limp. UTG+1 is never folding to you here and you dont want him too. BUt you probably do fold UTG limp once he see all this unfold.

ICM does come into play, but with this strong a hand in this specific situation, I think that you have to play this hand.

How you described the UTG +1 player, and the UTG reaction pre flop, you might have been able to employ the Stop and Go. Flat pre flop, UTG folds, now you are heads up with TAG player that can fold on a ragged board, reducing your variance by not seeing all five cards. You had 7.5 BB, call 3 BB pre flop, UTG folds, pot is 7.5 BB, you are all in for 4.5 BB, UTG +1 has to call 4.5 BB to win 12, getting a little under 3:1, tough to call with Ace high, even if it is AK

PS- what did the board run out?

depends on behavior of raisers and those coming after and what they think of you. I would shove because I would have come off TAG by then

if you don't play JJ in this case, what hand do you play? are you folding every hand and trying to coast with a small stack or waiting for AA/KK/QQ? the odds of those coming in the time you have left are slim so i go all in
