Villain clearly wanted to be the table captain at our table w the highest VPIP, PFR, and 3b at the table.

We are 5 handed and I raise 9h9d 2.2x 99 in the Cutoff.

V 3b to 2.5x from the SB and BB folds. V 3b is 9% so it is not a nutted range.

First question: do you 4b 99 get it in here? I decided not to bc I'm in position. I am not trying to set mine but I think I can realize my equity in position.

Here's the preflop action and flop:

I would 4bet jam the pair there, is a strong hand against the table aggressor. You have 27bbs in the beggining of the hand which I could easily shove there. No need for post flop brain-storming against the aggressor. You know before the flop that he gonna cbet there with the 100% of his range!

Agreed. Not sure what I'd do early on in the tourney, with 50BB or something like that, but on 27 I think based on your description of him and a 9% 3 bet, it would be a decent shove spot pre, assuming he folds a decent number of hands and doesn't just call off with everything.

Easy 4bet shove. I'd expect villain to be very polarized in this spot and flatting 99 pre at this stack depth is going to put us in some weird postflop spots. I'd rather flat a hand like AA/KK/87s here.

I considered 4b to call off, AI, and flat but I want to improve my play w these middle pairs so I decided to call which I know is not optimal but on to the rest of the hand which gets interesting......I think.

I checked bc he would be doing this with nutted hands (KK, AA, 55, 66) hands that beat me (TT, JJ, QQ), and hands I beat AQ, 22, 33, 44, 77, 88.

That's 18 nutted combos, 18 combos that beat me, and 46 combos I beat.

This is the Turn and Villain Action:

Apologies for not adding his betting range earlier.

I assume he would be betting all AK combos (12) and KQs combos (3). Villain might have KQo here but unlikely.

I will also add AJs (4 combos) to checking range.

The pot is 88.5k and V makes a delayed cbet of 31k. Not much I can do here other than call and try to get to showdown.

I hero checked the river and here's the results:

Player HERO checks
Player HERO mucks cards
------ Summary ------
Pot: 150500
Board: [5s Kh 6c 5h As]
Player sharkattacka does not show cards.Bets: 7700. Collects: 0. Loses: 7700.
Player BobbyVee does not show cards.Bets: 700. Collects: 0. Loses: 700.
Player HERO mucks (does not show: [9h 9d]). Bets: 70700. Collects: 0. Loses: 70700.
Player 99PROBLEMSS does not show cards.Bets: 700. Collects: 0. Loses: 700.
*Player VILLAIN shows: Two pairs. As and 5s [Qs Ac]. Bets: 70700. Collects: 150500. Wins: 79800.

You guys were right. This a profitable shove, even with a small amount of fold equity with an all in and obviously if he calls we're flipping, which is fine.

Should I have been more aggressive on the turn? I think not, even if we allow V to realize his equity w AQ but happy to hear other thoughts.
