I'd like to get some opinions on this final table play to see if my thinking is flawed and if this is a leak that needs plugging.

Also, I type a lot and I apologize. I just have so much stuff in my head going at once that I feel like I have to get out. So, to save those from having to read a long-winded post (if you're not into that), here is the shortened version:

-Do I give up a potential lock on 7th place with my short stack? Or
-Do I risk my short stack for a potential 4th place spot and a better chance of finishing in top 3, but at the risking of finishing in 8th-9th and giving up a small money jump I would've earned finishing in 7th?

I don't have a HH, but I did screenshot everything. I'll be rounding the stacks and stacks will be after blinds and antes posted.

Blinds: 2K/4K/400

DLR: 214K
SB: 184K
BB: 32K
UTG: 21K
HERO: 44K - AQs
MP1: 48K
MP2: 105K
HJ: 2K
CO: 46K

UTG shoves for 21K or just over 5 BBs?

HERO: ???

I notice that there is an extremely short stack who will likely be out by antes alone before the blinds get to them. I also know that I am likely crushing UTGs shove range with my hand, but I have a lot of big stacks behind me still to act.

I could fold here and lock up 8th place (where I'm currently) at because it's likely the severe short stack is going out very soon. There is also a chance I secure a 2nd pay jump if UTG gets called and loses.

But with only 11 BBs, I feel like I'm giving up a ton of value with this hand if I just fold. As mentioned, I'm crushing UTG's shove range, but I'm also not too far behind a lot of hands other stacks could call my shove with. If I get coolered, I get coolered, but I don't thinking taking a flip here against a big stack isn't that bad and it's possible I get called by hands like AJ, KQ, A10s, etc that I dominate. So, am I in that bad of a situation if I re-jam and get called?

My other problem is that if I fold and UTG + severe short stack get KO'd, I'm now 7/7 with ~9 BBs (assuming I don't win any hands before severe short stacked gets KO'd) and now have to find spots to shove with hands that are way < AQs, unless I get lucky and pick up mosters.

So, is it better for me to fold here and at best lock up 8th place, 7th if UTG goes out as well? or Is jamming here to isolate with UTG the better play because I can potentially pick up a ~69K pot to put in in 4th in chips and have a better chance of finishing in top 3? However, there is definitely more risk in re-jamming with so many players behind to act.

I should note that the pay jumps from 9th-to-8th-to-7th are only ~$5, so they aren't that significant. However, if I fold, I potentially giving up a 4th place spot for $42.25 in place of at best a 7th place $17.50 if I fold and become the shortest stack if UTG and then 2K stack bust out before me, but I also run the risk of finish 9th if I get called and lose, and UTG wins.

Finishing in top 3 has always been the main motivation at FTs and I'm always taking these risks with my shortish stacks where I'm in the bottom 3, but am I making the right decision?

I think because everyone is so short stacked you can't throw this hand away. If we all had slightly more chips we could easily fold but when you are this short stacked it's all about big As and pairs and taking flips.

Also in agreement that for me, I'm playing for top places where money is bigger. Who cares about a $5 pay jump. IMO you have to gun for first.

This is without a doubt an all in. All the money in a tourney is in the top 3 spots and you're hardly sitting on a heavy stack with serious short stacks surrounding you. I don't think you should even be considering a fold.

Reshove, not close.

this was my first thought too.

the other guys with 10-15 big blinds will get out of the way because they dont want to risk going out in 9th when they can easily get 7th, and the big stacks have their eye on 1st place, and arent going to risk approximately a quarter of their stack on a a short stack battle when that would put them at a big disadvantage against the other big stacks.

I'm reshoving this as well. We crush his 5bb UTG shoving range.

If he had 25bb, it's an entirely different matter. Then we don't really crush his opening range, and with 11bb we can't really coldcall an UTG open (even if he only minraises).

That's where I was leaning. Just wanted to be sure it was the right move.

What's the play if he have a 25BB stack?

if the shover has a 25bb stack? not sure what you're asking here...

In this spot for all the same reasons everyone else listed, reshove.
