Villian Stats (VPIP/PFR/AF): 47/17/4

We're last in chips at the mo.

Big stack's stats are above. He was limping 47% of hands but mostly in late position.

SB is an 18/11. BB is a 20/10 over small sample.

Do you open rip this for 17bb?

It is an awkward stack size. Less than 15bb I'm shoving. >20bb I'm raising. Raise folding seems like a mistake even with the tight blinds.

Any views?

25600 in pot, 136019 in your stack.

I raise 2.5BB, 20,000. I want to keep the fish, with all his dominated aces, in the hand.

If someone shoves after you raise, you probably need to fold. For example, if SB shoves:

Your stack after raise: 116019
Pot after your raise, before shove: 45600
116019 / (45600+villain's 116019+your 116019) = 116019 / 277638 = you need 42% equity.
I don't think you have it, and really you need more than 42% due to the value of survival in a tournament / ICM considerations.

However, when you consider effective big blinds, you are actually at 11.5 BB.

The effective big blind is $8,000+[(2/3)*sum of all antes].

$8,000 + [(2/3)*$5,600)] = $11,700 effective big blinds.

Considering your stack, size of $136k, open shove should should be fine. Even if everyone folds, you are picking up all the antes, and if someone calls, you are probably in decent position to double.

Easy push and don't even think about it. Raising is not very fine because it will hard to play on postflop against chipleader. Don't be greedy and just shove it in.

You can raise/call preflop

Or you can just keep it simple and ship it.

I think raise/folding is the worst idea.

I prolly just ship it due to the limper. The dead money is already worth winning.

With 17BB I would just shove. If you raise preflop and get called, it will be hard for you to play when you miss the flop with these stack sizes.

AQ 17BBs I am shoving pre, you don't have enough blinds to play post flop.

I ripped and one of the tight players called with AK.

The chip leader tank folded, so maybe he was trapping.

I think its right in that gray area to rip vs. raise.

raise folding sucks but the players yet to act are so tight that i think it is the right option but maybe results oriented.

Here's the rest of the hand.

Player HERO allin (136019)
Player AUGGIE59 allin (181138)
Player Van Hiep Tu folds
Player Tyerion folds
Uncalled bet (49119) returned to AUGGIE59

Raising shouldnt be an option here... are you really going to raise fold here? Not a good strategy imo

Dont be results oriented.
Easy shove. Furthermore you should shove weaker hands as well there.

Big stacks like to limp in Ft to get cheap flops from what Ive experienced so yea just shove, you will get snapped off by better some of the time but usually its a flip or you're just ahead, Just no getting around it the hands too good
