Blinds are $400/$800, with a $80 ante ... the average chip stack was $22,000.

UTG was the tighter of the two, looking for his spot but still active not at all passive... MP was throwing weight around, deffo not playing passive nor tight.. he was playing lots of hands, kinda loose but obviously has a plan... so I wasn't surprised by the quick call at all... I hadn't had a hand in a while and the blinds / antes were about to increase so was going make a move and try to double up hopefully sooner rather than later... anyways the hand...

($15,161) UTG: raise $1720
UTG +1: folds
MP: calls
($24,872) MP+1: folds
CO: folds
BTN: folds
($9,642) Hero :Q♣ Q: all-in
BB: folds

Was I right to go all-in?

You could go yes, but you should not be surprised if you found an AA or KK.

I would've went all in there. If you had more chips, you could 3bet to get value. And you can play the flop. But I think that is an all in preflop.

We can Shove 99+/AJ+/KQs

At least.

QQ is a very very very happy shove.

Yeah with only 12ish bb here, this is not a close decision at all with QQ. Happily shove, and if we are beat here or lose the hand to a weaker holding, so be it. Nice hand.

I would be shoving wider than QQ, and extremely happy to shove QQ. I am never calling or folding. You made the right play.

Agree.

I’d say QQ is an easy shove. Seems like MP would have raised with any premium holdings. Hope it got through!

good shove. Now, ask yourself what is the weakest hand you should shove here?

I'm thinking 77+ and AJ+ it's unlikely they will both call so often you'll be flipping with dead money and that's the name of the game in tourney poker, especially off short stacks.

with 12 BB and a QQ was certainly a correct decision.

Seems redundant to say at this point given the feedback from several experienced players, but I'd definitely be shoving that too.

Really like these posts & replies as they make me stop and think what I'd be shoving myself, every day is a school day :)

QQ is as easy shove obviously, but I would shove little tighter than the range you give here, baceuse in these cheap tournaments villains call wider. I thik we shouldn't shove KQ, because UTG easily might decide to call with AT.
