Stacks are 30bb deep effective.

CO raises 2.5 x, I 3-bet from the SB with AA, CO calls. Flop is Q52. I c-bet 1/4 pot, CO calls.

The turn is a blank, 7s with a pot sized bet left to play. I decide to check the turn planning to check the river and call most river bets.

The river is a Q. I check, CO shoves all in.

Do you call or fold?

I have two considerations here.

1. Who is the villain? Are they capable of making a move without trips+ here (or possibly weak enough to make it with something like TT)? Do you think your check on the turn induced him to shove the river?

2. What does my stack look like given any of the options I can do? What if I fold? Do I have enough chips to continue playing in a normal manner? Can I fold and just find better spots? What does my stack look like if I call and win or lose? Am I out, does winning this pot put me in a position to win the tournament?

The main problem in this hand is I didn't have any reads. PT4 isn't working so I literally had nada. I'm going to sort that out very soon.

Yes I believe my check on the turn induced him to shove. In my experience in these micro stakes games, though, I believe villain would check any pocket pair JJ or lower on the river as he would be afraid I had a Queen that I wasn't sure about on the flop, or AA/KK as my 3-bet preflop indicated. I wasn't sure if he was aggressive or not as I didn't have any notes and hadn't been paying too much attention to the tables. That's a leak I need to fix. If he was from brazil, I would have snap called :)

My stack size would have been very playable, I would have had 25bb left if I called. But it is the very early stages of the tournament and getting these chips wouldn't have helped me win it.

I decided to fold and wait for a better spot. I know I can't be doing this too often especially when I've under-repped my hand, but it felt right in this spot.

Im betting the turn and getting it in on the river. Once I make that turn bet its basically telling the villan that its all going in on the river. Plus byu checking both turn and river, you have no clue where your at the villan, Also not sure QX is going to get value by shoving on the river, so it was probably just air.

First raise I'm picking KQ suited but calling the 3bet tells me he had KK.that's the best I can come up with....but with the AA fold do we actually get to know what the villain had or has it been a waste of time reading and commenting on this thread.would love to know if it was KK as I'm quite sure I would've called??????

I think a call is in order here. I would need specific information telling me your opponent likely has a set turned boat or a Q. Even then, you’re sitting 2:1 to call? So more than likely - almost definitely.

Were there two of a suit on the flop, by chance? I think many pocket pairs and missed draws are firing here. You almost certainly don’t have AQ because there are two out there. Suddenly inspired, the villain decides to represent a Q. I think at the effective small stack size, the Q would have gone all in on the flop if there were two suits, and on the turn otherwise.

Id cbet flop larger vs most weaker players.

Barrel turn for 40-50% pot.

As played it is very close, id fold vs passive players and call vs aggressive players.
