Better off checking for pot control on the turn. We’ve ended up putting a third of our stack in with middle two pair.

He played basically as I would have if I had a 5. Check/call and float until the river. That river bet has “missed my flush but I want you to fold middle pair” written all over it.

I think you should have controlled the well after the first three community cards .. in the fourth card you're practically committed

Preflop, I like your raise to 4bb.

Flop, bad bet. There is no point in betting with JJ, because you will get called with any Ace. You are value betting yourself.

Turn, bad bet for same reasons.

River, villain can have Ax, 5, set of 8s, set of tens. All of this hands just crush you. Easy fold. The worst hand you should call is AK, I think.

Thank for the input guys! I agree with you i made a bad play on this one.

At the time i figured he didnt have an Ax witch he would have played more aggressively but i didnt even consider him hitting the fives.

The bet on the flop was in order to thin the herd wish i think could be the correct play sometimes.

I think, the preflop betting was good, but as you had 3 callers, I would not bet on the flop, as you could expect, that one of them could have an ace or even, if not, could try to bluff you with that.
