I think this happened while being around 300th position of 650 (?), about 750 paid places.
After the hand was played, I started thinking it would maybe have been better to go all in with my hand 77 in the big blind?
Because the short stack would probably be playing any Ax, stronger suited hands or any pair.
The main reason why I folded was because the button called, so my equity lowered if I also called.
Now I'm thinking the button might have folded if I shoved (I slightly covered him with my stack), so my equity would have been higher.

What do you guys think? What would be the best move?

Jam pre. We're likely to be in very good shape vs BU (yeah the occasional AA/KK flat but overall we're doing just fine). Calling preflop puts us in a really horrible position, OOP with a medium pair. While we got really good equity when called on a jam (and if he folds that's the jackpot for sure).

With the stupidly huge raise preflop (6X???) your move is all in or fold.

With 30 BB in your stack, I like your fold.

I always like to see a flop with my pocket pairs. Up to 4 or 5bb. Defending there with one caller already seems like a 50/50. Tough decision but I support your play with your Chip stack. Good call. Good Luck

Good Luck To All:cool:

The call was less than 1/3 of your stack to do it and a you had a good position, you were the last player to move in that hand, and the player to bet was with all his stack too.
I think that could be a good move make a call there and see the flop cheaply, Is a better move than shove there so close to reach ITM.
Also the last desition depend of kind of player on buttom, between call or shove there. But dont take risk there was a good option too. ( I hope that you finished ITM ;)).

He only had 7BB to start, so it was an effective shove. Some players do this thing with leaving themselfes a few chips behind hoping, it gets checked to the river, if they get action, so they can lose but still be in the tournament. I agree, its all in or fold, and I could go both ways here depending on individual reads on both players.
