If you bet that turn and the other player calls, the river is a check behind or fold to any bet situation. Since you didn't bet the turn, it's harder to predict if the other player knows you have nothing and is bluffing you or they actually have something. With no knowledge about this player's history, I would fold, but maybe you have a better read that could justify calling.
