$215 NLHE MTT: $215$ NLHE MTT: KK vs AA early in the Sunday Million. Should I of folded Kings?

I know folding KK preflop is generally not a good idea in the long run but in retrospect, I think this is an example of when you can fold. I wish I had of.

10ish hands into the Sunday Million:

poker stars $200+$15 No Limit Hold'em Tournament - t25/t50 Blinds + t5 - 9 players
DeucesCracked Poker Videos Hand History Converter

alexusee (MP2): t9890 M = 82.42
mr.why123 (CO): t9965 M = 83.04
bizonio13 (BTN): t9665 M = 80.54
Somedayman (SB): t10335 M = 86.12
Hero (BB): t10285 M = 85.71
neil's uncle (UTG): t9890 M = 82.42
SickAtEase (UTG+1): t9990 M = 83.25
Sedlatschek1 (UTG+2): t9990 M = 83.25
brad1906 (MP1): t9990 M = 83.25

Pre Flop: (t120) Hero is BB with K:heart: K:club:
neil's uncle raises to t100 (QUEENS), 1 fold, Sedlatschek1 raises to t350(ACES), 1 fold, alexusee calls t350, 3 folds, Hero raises to t1300, neil's uncle calls t1200, Sedlatschek1 raises to t5300, 1 fold, Hero raises to t10280 all in, neil's uncle calls t8585 all in, Sedlatschek1 calls t4685 all in

Flop: (t30275) 5:spade: 4:club: J:spade: (3 players - 3 are all in)

Turn: (t30275) T:diamond: (3 players - 3 are all in)

River: (t30275) 6:heart: (3 players - 3 are all in)

After analysing the hand I thought a few things:

- It's extremely unlikely villain (AA) has anything other than AA in this spot unless he is a maniac. AKs is a possibility.
- It's too early in the tournament to risk all my chips for a spot where I probably have little more than 30% equity against a range of KK+, AKs (see below)
- I should have folded :)

equity win tie pots won pots tied
Hand 0: 32.235% 26.67% 05.56% 4110748 856833.00 { KcKd }
Hand 1: 67.765% 62.21% 05.56% 9586322 856833.00 { KK+, AKs }

Let me know your thoughts.

P.S sorry if hand history came out wrong.

Considering they buy in price I'm 99.9% sure that players' level of playing poker starts from decent AT LEAST!
So as you said their range in such a situation would be KK+ but most likely they have AA.
You should have folded after that 4bet, even tho I probably wouldn't do that but I only play SnGs/MTTs with a buy in of maximum 5$ and there players' range in such a situation are wider, but in this kind of tournament I am sure It is not worth the risk, or at least I wouldn't risk. You still have time to stack up, it's just the 10th hand.

Also forgot to mention that the player immediately to my left also decreases any equity I have and thus makes folding even more justifiable (higher chance I'm facing aces).

Still bashing myself over this hand :(

Would have been a great fold but don't kick yourself for not doing so. I a lot of people who have folded KK pre flop before have been wrong and running KK into AA is not exactly something you should kick yourself about, just one of those things in general.

like you said you rarely fold Cowboys pre-flop, but running into AA is no shame... you could easily have drawn another king or even two... then his Ace's would have gone nowhere. Don't feel too bad about it, next time the tables will be turned and you'll come out on top. Good luck & see you at the final table !!

It helps to review these things if you don't give away that he has aces. Really you should post your hand up to your last action. I think most everyone here would try to get it all in with kings here. I wouldn't beat yourself up about it. In poker, sometimes kings run into aces. It happens. It is a game that involves chance, which is why we keep good bankroll management.

It's hard to fold kings preflop but he is rarely gonna have anything other than aces.

Yeah, I don't think I can fold this either, crying call though.

UTG+2 range is {AA} never even AKs with ~200bb at this stage in this tournament
And UTG is still left to act after flatting a cold 4 with the 3 others still in the hand

( MP2 flat caller wishes they had just clicked the call button with JJ )

Then again, you get to find something better to do for the rest of your Sunday or work a huge stack early towards a big score.

We have two options either we fold or get it in hoping opp does'nt show up AA
The way the action went i guess we can certainly assume its AA and find fold as its early
It can be hard to fold in this spot , but sometimes poker is cruel

This early in the game it is a bit too aggressive of a play with Kk. Unless like you said you know this player to be a maniac who will spaz with AK or worse. Really hard to fold but sometimes it's correct.
