Hero is on the button.
The HJ raises us on the bubble we 3 bet with J8s.
The HJ was definetly tryin to exploit the bubble.
The BB shoves, the HJ folds and we obviously call for the price.
Comment on the 3 bet.

3 Comments:
1. Hero is too loose.
2. Hero makes a lot of assumptions.
3. Hero should have folded Pre- and/or folded to the shove.

There is nothing obvious about this.

You don't tell us the amount of the 3-bet, so we don't know what pot odds you are getting.

Your hand, J8s has only 44% equity against any two random cards. But the BB doesn't have any two random cards. He has seen a raise and a re-raise in front of him, and he probably makes it into the money if he just folds his next ten hands. But he chooses to go all in for his tournament life. His range is very narrow.

Even if the chip pot odds justify the call, ICM teaches us that on the bubble the value of not losing chips is much higher than the value of winning chips.

Adding on to that, it had a lot to do with the 2bb stack in SB. The play, just not worth it.
