So today I played a MTT after a long time.I was doing great and raised my stack to ~25K chips.
To much card dead and I started to get boring 1-tabling.
I don't have a hud so I will write the hand by myself.

I get dealt on the BTN 86d (was boring that's why I played this hand IP).

Blinds 250/500.

HJ opened 1100.
CO flats.
I decided to flat IP with ~19K chips.
SM and BB folded.

Flop : 9h 6h 4d

HJ cbet 1/3 of the pot.
Around 1500.
CO flats.
I flat there having middle pair and a BDFD.

Turn: 3c

HJ checks.
CO checks.
I decided to bet ~4500 to take the pot down and protect my hand a little bit.

HJ folds.
CO flats again.

River 2s

The pot was ~16K and I had behind me ~12K.

CO leads 8K.
Hero?

I will like the reasoning of you guys what hero should do there.

Hero should have checked turn or bet less as you have committed a pretty sizable chunk of your stack with a weak hand. Yes villain maybe drawing to a flush but why put yourself in a spot like that with 8d6d?

As played-unless I have stats or reads on the player I fold. You beat a busted flush draw and complete air.

Also- how deep is CO? If he is very deep I'd consider calling.

the river is a fold, its only 3rd pair

I do not understand that you played in the streets ... Probably you were really very bored.

I was really bored one tabling

Two details that I forgot to write.

My bounty was almost the buy in.
And the two villains had 50k stack eatch.

I analyze the hand through the streets and I decided to give a call there.

Villain showed A5o and wins the pot.

I was happy with my call there, and I believe was the right call.

Villain couldn't have any value hands there except for some sets that decide to slow play in a wet board.

A 9x doesn't flat flat and lead the river for 8k.

If he had a strong value hand wouldn't he shove over me to collect my bounty.

Imo villain game play doesn't make any sense and I was unlucky that he hit his runner runner straight.

So maybe was a good call in the long run?
Who knows

EDIT: Why I said third pair when I had second pair?
Probably I was drunk lul

I think this hand is one of better hands to 3-bet preflop. Call is fine too.
On the flop it is obvious call.
On the turn you should check back. You have some showdown value, no need to turn your hand into bluff.
On the river it is fold. It is extremely rare that people donk bluff on the river in cheap tournaments.

It seems to me that your opponent has strong hand and no reason to call on the river. Call preflop and bet on turn also are not the best decisions.

Fold pre. Being bored isnt a good reason to play a hand... at least if your goal is to make money. If your goal is to play and have fun then you can play any hand you want.

As played, call the flop. As played check turn. As played fold river.
