I would bet the turn here. If your opponent has a flush draw, they’ll stick around. AK sticks around, AQ or better definitely stays too. KQ and worse folds anyway, so try a bet hoping that they have a made hand or a strong draw.
I understand that by checking behind, you are hoping to induce a river bluff, but only the donkiest of donks lead out on the river in that position. They would only lead out with total air or a strong made hand, while checking any weak made hands hoping to get to showdown.
As always these plays are read dependent. If you’ve seen this player lead out on the river for a bluff before, then checking behind makes more sense.
