With so many draws on the board I will be raising flop and playing more passively once flush and straight came on the turn.

There's definitely an argument for raising the flop.

By "more passively', do you mean you would fold? Or check and call?

Maniacs aren't unusual at the micros, but this player was an extreme example.

Ten hands isn't much of a sample, but based on his stats, his philosophy seemed to be "bet and/or raise with any two cards until you meet resistance".

I say "until you meet resistance" because his AFq was "only" 65%, not 100%. Also this hand was heads-up, where he was more likely to be aggressive than in multi-way action.

The turn brought a scare card, but with a range of "any two cards", how likely was it that he made a better hand than my set? Or was his range really "any two cards"? It's possible I was overvaluing a small sample.

The equity calculator in PT4 gives me the following equities against any two cards:

Flop: 85%
Turn: 71%
River: 77%

I am pretty happy with the way I played this one. As liu says, there is an argument for raising the flop, which would reduce risk. But I'd say the risk was worth the reward here.

Results:
MP shows 4<font color='red'>♦</font> 5<font color='red'>♥</font> (High Card, Queen)
(Pre 18%, Flop 2%, Turn 5%)
Hero shows 9<font color='black'>♣</font> 9<font color='red'>♦</font> (Three of a Kind, Nines)
(Pre 82%, Flop 98%, Turn 95%)
Hero wins 78 BB
