You made him pay to draw on the flop and the turn which was well played. But once that river comes you should stick to a check or a small blocker bet. There are not a lot of worse hands that can still call and there are a lot of better hands that will call.

I know the shove on the river was ambitious.. and here is why I did it.
1) these smaller tournaments, they will call you off VERY often with TP.
2) So many bad kids, I knew that I could get bad calls.. which is why i sucked value out on the flop and turn..

But I agree, a smaller value bet on the river again or a check/call would be more appropriate.

Don't show the results of the hand if asking for analysis.

I would open 3x before antes, not that it makes any difference.
Flop and turn are fine.

You can't bet/fold the river at this point so as played everything is going in if you bet.
A smaller bet might get more calls from worse, but at this level I don't think it's really going to matter much and Villain has already flat called 40%+ effective stack.
River is only 2/3 pot shove for villain if hero checks. There aren't really any missed draws. Crappy spot, one of those "why do I even play tournaments anyway" questions.

Villain can have virtually any two flatting the BTN here pre. Flatting the flop doesn't really narrow his range either as hero is likely c-betting 100%
I usually play overpairs for 2 streets of value. Seems like this is really a common spot early in MTTs. Lots of random stuff here.

1. I would open 3x at this stage of the MTT.

2. I think there is more value to check/call the river. By leading the river you force him to have a hand to call and most of his calling range will be stronger than your hand.

check/fold river, if villain will shove the turn, he would never do this with top pair on very coordinated board.

at $1 tournaments I dont usually worry about balancing my bet sizing so i vote for making it 3.5 pre. then pot on the flop then he should have like 1.5x pot left so jam turn.

just a different idea on how to play it. i dont have any problems with how you played the hand as it is. and i agree with your reasons why, people in $1 call down super light.
