The folk in the button was kinda loose and BB can have anything, so it makes sense to play my hand as a bluff catcher since I don't have the strongest kicker, right? the 8 on the turn is kind of a brick and villain's bet was on the bigger side so I was a little scared but I ended up calling, I was almost for sure folding river, but idk, what would you do if they shove the river?

A couple of notes first:
A9s from UTG2 is definitely a standard open - however, the Small Blind in this case has 10BB's. Are we going to call the SB jam with A9s? That's the question pre-flop, the answer to which, determines if we open.

I also don't like your sizing of 880. If we're doing that, why not just 800? What does the extra 80 accomplish? We have 40BB's, so it's more than standard to just go 2.5x here. Additionally, you mention "the BB can have anything". Does that mean he's loose and as been calling all-day? If so, we can go 3x or even 4x as our open size here. It would still depend on a number of things, such as, are we likely to get 3-bet, or even called putting us out of position on the flop? But, when the BB calls all his big blinds, or at least most of them, we can generate vastly more value with our sizing.

On the flop

I really like the line you've chosen here, this is good. However, we did get called and lost position pre-flop, which could be a very justifiable reason to simply fold pre-flop.

As played, we have a clear cut category 2 hand, and we've lost position - check/call all day long. Even if checked to (if we were in position) this would still be a check.

On the Turn
This is good even without the pair board card. We're going to have to peel another one here even with normal turn cards, but with the board pair - no brainier check/call once again.

Plus, this is a pretty standard bet-sizing tell exhibited by villain here. He went 1/3 pot on the flop, and is now going 2/3 on a polarizing turn card. This is a pretty clear "Please Fold" bet.

On the River
Yep - this is good. This whole hand was played well. The KJ is laughable too. Actually, he almost certainly should have fired a 3rd barrel with that river card - we would have probably had to fold too - then again, he never should have over called pre-flop but, details...

So, yeah, this is good and standard. I'd just think more about our opening range with small stacks in the blinds and am also not a huge fan of the bet sizing pre-flop, especially with an ante present.
