Hey,

I am wondering how you would have played this hand pre-flop and on the flop.

Flat pre?
3 Bet lighter?
Fold pre?
Raise on flop?

Thanks for your input :)

Usually TT is a call for me facing a raise. If I think they are opening wide I will raise. Would only really fold preflop if there was some crazy action and stacks were deep. Could be worth a raise on the flop if you have an overpair or a draw.

I play 10 10 differently dependent upon my table image, the play of my opponents so far, the size of my stack, where we are in the tournament (early on, near the money, final table, etc), and more.

as it played out this was fine by me you got a full double up on your chipstack. the 3 bet pre is good (maybe slightly bigger to shut it down to heads up) but at this level you were lucky all 3 villains didn't come along for the ride. calling it down after the flop instead of raising (villain might have found a fold to a raise) earned you extra chips which is what poker is mainly about.

Heya Maurits

I forgot to add my boom link hahaha!!

That makes it a bit easier for my noodle! lol

Just my thoughts without getting the calculator out:

Flop: Being after the first bet with a possible c-raise behind is a tough spot. Player reads would really affect this for me. You clearly have a strong hand, but the other two players can make all kinds of things happen with that board.

Calling: was a way to see the Turn as cheaply as possible. When the check folds after you, things change again.

Raising: could easily prompt a re-raise, leaving you with bottom set. That's where the range read comes in. I'm not saying a raise to make one or both opponents fold wasn't in order: maths & reads. As it was, he could've easily shoved (top pair + so many outs), with you in the bottom set head scratch.

So all in all (and with huge hindsight!) the call was ideal. And, of course, certainly what I would have done! (Ahem!)

Stay groovy,
Mr Skinny

Preflop, I like your 3-bet. You are raising MP and you are way ahead of his range. In more expensive tournaments I think it should be call, but in these cheap tournaments you will get called with weaker hands often enough, so it is good value 3-bet.

Flop, I don't like your call. Board is very wet and you have bottom set, you don't block villains top pairs, two pairs, pair plus gutshots... I mean he has ton of hands to call your raise. Should have raised it.

Turn, now this call is perfect. Your hand is not vulnerable and you are giving villain chance to hang himself.
