first hand of the tournament i get pocket jacks in MP. early position standard raises, i double him, to my left calls me for 9k and so does early position. so pot is now 27k and our stacks are 22k. flop is 3 rags, rainbow. i went all in hoping that an overpair calls me or that overcards fold since against two callers i could be in double trouble. is that a good play or a bad one?

If you have an overpair getting all the money in is a solid bet.

Why the double raise? It achieves nothing.

Ok i don't really understand what you are saying but breaking it down you all have 22k chips somehow in the first hand of a $0.55 mtts. One guy opens to 4.5k (i guess somehow blinds are 1k/2k and you all start with 11bb, unlucky lol), and now you raise to 9k?
If the spot is like this just shove right there, there is no point in just going to 9k and be left with 12k. JJ is good enough to shove 11bb anytime.

It probably will change the way you view the hand but it was one of those on demand on ACR so nine handed with antes I think the blinds were 500/1000 so he raises to something like 3000 and I raised to 9000 to isolate, which didn't work. I suppose you could have been the first hand of the second level I'm not positive but either way we all started with 30,000 and we all had right around 2122 thousand left with 27,000 in the pot

The same as any other reraise or isolation because with Jack Jack I don't want every over card available I would rather face one player either holding a middle pocket pair or an over card

Exactly! Min raising doesn’t achieve this especially at these stakes - you should be raising 3x - the double click back only gives opponents behind you and the original raiser great odds to call. So you end up playing a huge multiway pot with JJ - not ideal.

Since 3 times is close to half the stack and any callers will be pot committed as well is a shove the better play.

This new ACR format really starts you in the later stage of the tournament with 30 BB's. Which is also the average stack size. :)
