Here is the situation:
I am in Big Blind position, with a stack of 15 Big Blinds left. The two players limp in and the action folds back to me, which gives me a "free" look a the flop. I am holding 9 8 Flop comes out 6 K 7 I know have a flush draw giving me 8 outs at the very least. Villain raises me enough to take me all-in, and I call and miss my straight.

Question: Should I have played this hand differently? Fold maybe?

I would like to know what you think thank you all for your input.

Detailed hand:

I Would rather be the one shoving than calling it off after there is a bet and a shove on the flop from your opponents. I think it's a fold. Yes after the MP2 calls the shove you have yourself a nice pot and that helps... but

Yes you have 8 outs for your str8 and a BDFD.
1. We are behind.
2. We can fold and have 14 BBs left.
3. We are still alive.
4. Don't go broke in a limped pot.

Perfectly played. Going for the check-shove on the flop here is completely fine. Once it gets shoved before you, it's close, but it's a call. After MP+2 betting full pot there's enough dead money in the pot to give you enough equity HU against the BTN. Assuming the MP+2 has priced himself in, you're probably even three-ways to more than triple your stack up. On a rainbow board an OESD+BDFD is definitely enough to go with.

With 15bbs I don't like to flat call here, I like to shove pre especially against limpers, with you being in the middle stage of the tourney a 3bet all in is good here. It does depend on how villian's have been playing, have you seen them limping to try and trap.

With the UTG and the MP2 I am quite happy to shove here as they both look like passive players, but the BTN could have a kx hand here and was just calling IP against 2 passive players to see what the flop brings.

To me though it is a fold or shove as we don't have enough bb's to play post flop.

The odds are on your favor with 3 players all in. You will triple yourself and the chance to hit the straight is a little bit more than the money committed to the pot after the all ins. However you must see how far away you are from the money. It's just like a 1/3 coin flip with small advantage for you in the %.
Still the money on the pot after the preflop are too low to risk an all in, because you may get just one call and in that situation your winning percentage is far more lower than the money you may win.

Fold? He's the BB. If he thinks he can get 3 folds, then jam it, but seeing a free flop doesn't seem wrong to me.

Checking to see a free flop is 100% percent wrong at this level, you are not deep enough, when you are in middle stages shoving instead of just checking here is the best play.

That's why I said shove or fold!

Pretty much this. I don't mind a shove over the limpers here either. Calling off on a naked draw hoping to hit is entirely different from getting it in yourself first. If it's some combo draw, maybe with overs, then you can call.
