$0.5 NLHE MTT Turbo: Folding JJ to an open shove in a final table. profitable or not?
I dont remember all numbers and stack sizes and all that so i will give you a general outlook of the situation. We are at the final table of a 90man 0,5$ sit n go on pokerstars and i am the 2nd bigger stack at the table with 2-3 short stacks left and apart from the chip leader who is covering me by a margin there is another player that i cover him by a small amount. each one of the 3 of us has 2.5X the stack of each shortstack. We are playing 7 handed and i am at the CO. player from UTG+2 moves all in (a stack that is a little smaller than mine.) there is definetely room for him to make a standard min raise but he chooses to shove. and the thing is that i dont have any reads on him yet. but the payjumps are big at this point obviously and with many shortstackers ready to go its great if i keep my stack and try to increase it by stealing rather than calling down the majority of it. That situation obviously sucks... best case im up against TT. which is great. maybe even 99 but the move smelled strength rather than trying to avoid running the board. i didnt thought of it much and called, but the thing is, is it a profitable call? i mean its JJ. I know if you fold jj in a low stakes turbo tournament when you are far ahead of the shoving range its kind of nitty, but even if im against Ak or AQ or KQs do i want to take a flip? with the payjumps and all that no i dont want. i dont think that doubling up gives me double the chance to make 1st place. if the foe shows something like AJ or ATs, do i like my 2:1 chances? I dont think at this level people are going to be thinking about such things as "if he folds JJ at this spot i can widen my shoving range and exploit his nittines" cause they are like "oh me has Ax me shoves".. any opinions?
