sometimes the deuce on the river means that nothings change, but not this time.

please look out my hand and tell me if you would play anyway different, I really have no clue what change on this play I could have done.

the poker's god are with on this hand.

Jamming pre if UTG isn't a NIT. Though if he's calling too wide vs a shove then limping behind is best. Playing the same way postflop.

How many times would you not raise preflop?
You've got a weak pair, so the more people are participating, the slimmer your chances are.
I think I would bet 900 preflop here. This gives you info on what they have.

Ok so the flop comes and you hit a 2.
In your situation: UTG limped in, and BB checked. This probably means you have the strongest hand (by far). BB range could be anything weak to mediocre, and UTG probably has a semi strong hand like 78s, K9s, ATo,... Time to check, see what they do, and reraise when UTG in position probably raises.
In my situation (with the preflop bet). BB folded and UTG called (this could indicate a pocket pair, broadway suits,...). So this time we check and he raises. This is where it gets kinda tough. What if he has the 88 or TT? Then we're screwed. Do you take the chance? He could easily be rasing with JJ+ or AT since he has top pair now. So chances are you still win. I would probably call his raise. But it might be debatable.

The turn could just have been called instead of raised imo.

Any thoughts/feedback? I may be too passive...

ISO-raising to 900 preflop here would be terrible, you're paying attention to your hand too much and not thinking ahead. If we raise to 900 pre the UTG player is never going to fold and we end up playing a pot out of position with a hand that does not flop well with a low SPR. With 22 we either need to jam pre to maximize our fold equity with a hand that has okay equity vs a calling range or take a cheap flop and hope we hit a 2, check/folding if we do not.

for sure, the raise to 900 with such bad pair is not good. Although calling the turn would leave me with only 3bb behind, I would not be comfortable to put pressure on the river and would be pot committed anyway. I got lucky on the river card was just this.

My conclusion of this hand is that we can see the weakness of a pair of 2 in this kind of board, even finding the three of a card on the flop the hand was not the best.

Agree with everything you've said here besides for 'out of position'- hero was on the button unless I'm mistaken...

P.S. Glorious river! Love it. We must email this boom to Norman Chad immediately.
