Villain is 22/2/1 over 170 hands.

I don't quite understand what hand can bet like this on this board. I don't see a made straight bets pot on this flop, but then what hand could be strong enough to fire this river bet ?

Why is a straight not betting the flop? I think it fits perfectly. Not that you can fold, anywhere, but 98 is definitely in his range. Other hands include the other sets, two pairs and, on the river, the semibluffed-and-now-completed flush.

So should I fold now on the river? I still beat two pairs, but is that enough?

Yea. lots of stuff out there that bets this flop. A10, straights, flushes lots going on here. Personally i stick it in on the turn, but as played i call the river. I think AK,QK, 10-x is villians holding enough times to justify it. HU we are almost never folding a set.

98, especially suited, is in his range. Of course, so is 6/7s, J/J, pocket 8's or 9's, A/Q-like hands, etc.

So I'd call the shove on the river. You're going to have the best hand more often than not.

Personally i stick it in on the turn
This. The river card can make things sticky, and plenty of worse hands are calling. I like a flop raise, and getting your money in on the turn.

As far as villain's range, its not as important, because a set crushes most of it :D

Well, the standard of play is usually so awful on everest that I didn't think the villain could be aggressively betting a draw, so I thought flat call and let him hang himself. Now I realise raising the flop would have been a better idea.

Anyway, I called and was quite surprised at villain's hand. Never thought the 4 on the turn would be the card that got me...
