I realise I could have maybe just called or re-raised without going all in but I don't see how I could escape this one anyway....

What do you think?

being all in preflop with kings isnt a bad thing, even if you didnt go all in preflop that flop of 4-2-8 looks great with pocket K's I would of pushed all my chips in after seeing that flop, so I think you made the right move but unfortunately you ran up against aces
and to sum it up, yes I would of gone bust too

It's just about impossible to not got broke in this situation, I see nothing wrong with the play you made.

I agree with your initial raise here. Once you were re-raised, that would have raised some red flags for me and I would have just called to see the flop. Once the flop hit, I would have made a pot sized bet to see represent strength on the board, and hopefully try to bet villian out of the pot at this time. If he re-raised your pot sized bet, then it would have made it a lot easier to get off of the hand. Sure, you would have never known that he had the aces that eventually beat you, but you would have saved a ton of money in the end. Sometimes it is better to make a play that gives you outs, rather than pushing all of your chips into the pot preflop. Too many bad things can happen.

no way you could get away from KK at .05/10c. i probably wouldn't get away from it before the flop at any buy-in, getting your chips in preflop with KK is a huge +ev move.
