I picked up 4 of a kind and was just trying to put pressure on a guy in the blind. I felt he was going to bolt if I put any pressure on him and I was hoping he'd hit something. I was kinda of in shock I even had it. I guess the ace ruined any chance of action.

I would have value bet that Ace on the river. Even just 6 cents (match the turn bet he made). What is the use of slow-playing a monster if you can't take advantage when a great card like that Ace shows on the river?

Sure, he would have probably folded, but you already had the pot in the bag.

Bet the flop, bet the turn, bet the river.

Lets see, you checked the flop, checked the turn, and checked the river.

Well played.

I think it depends on who you are playing against. If you know you are against a loose/aggressive player, then check to him, he'll bet. But a tight/passive player might check their full boat on river.

Just think about what villain likely has on a board like this. He doesn't have a 6. He's either got a queen or a pocket pair of some sort. Maybe a flush draw.

Unless he's got aces, kings, or even AQ/KQ, he's probably not going to bet. He's going to get to showdown ASAP. So *you* have to put the money in. Plus, no one is going to put you on quads, so just keep betting it out.

I only check this flop to complete maniacs.

Why exactly were you raising K6 in the small blind? That's the real topic of this thread. Never mind that you lucked out and got quads and didn't know how to bet them.

Small stakes = bigger value bets = more profit in the long run

More profit in the long run = go to higher stakes = loose bankroll = back to small stakes

(Repeat as required)

Well, besides the fact that you were raised on a King 6, I thought it was played well. Instead of only calling, raise a little, enough to make him call. Checking on the river is risky on a slow play. Always raise a little, even if you don't think they'll call. (You'll receive the same amount of chips if they fold or if they check anyways.)

Actually in a short handed game K6 isn't that bad of hand to play as he did in the small blind.

You needed to bet. This is short handed micro. Bets fly no matter what here. No bet = no money made.
What would have been the outcome if you bet and he folded? Hmmmm:rolleyes: ...., the same:D .
