You started playing poker. That's what went wrong. Stop. Now.

Seriously, normally I would never tell someone straight out that they aren't just cut out for poker, but you've finally brought up the extreme case to my attention. Bad beat after bad beat post, getting a bit old. Other poker ettiquette rules you've broken with other members here, that I won't make public. We've tried to help you out with advice, and telling you to post more int eh HA threads than teh Bad Beat threads, you ignore us. I shouldn't even respond to these posts, but I just can't help this one.

You just aren't cut out for poker. Quit. End of story. That is truly the best advice I can give you.

Look, I have read every thread you have written. You're a nice guy. But, you ask for advice and then you don't take it. You play your own way and the hell with what any help or advice you get. We are just getting tired of reading your "poor me" posts. It's not meant to be mean but the truth. And you know that can hurt. You are not playing poker. You are just donking away your money. Which is no problem, it makes you happy. But we just don't want to read your posts about what you did wrong when we told you many, many, many, many, many times before.

I havnt given up hope here yet. A few points.

1) When posting HA threads dont include the results, you can always post hands you won as well. If I was posting this thread, id stop the action on the turn card and ask what other posters would have done.
2) Dont get overawed by your own hand, by all means get your money in pre-flop with your AA-KK hands, but once your flop bet had been called you now have some thinking to do. You need to put your opponent on a range of hands and attempt to play accordingly. He has cards, and obv some sort of hand if hes prepared to call a large bet on the flop.
3) Relax, chill out, people here are only trying to help you out. Poker should be a very impassionate game, losing with AA dosnt even phase me anymore.

Stef, if you had read my previous posts to him, and there are many, I give numerous advice over and over about how to properly use HA thread, how to practice BR management, and advice telling him that he has to get used to the fact that there are bad beats in poker and if he can't do that then he'll never be able to be successful in poker. I've done that, over and over, it's just his story doesn't change.

And I did give what I believe now, is the best constuctive advice I can give to him:

You started playing poker. That's what went wrong. Stop. Now.

Seriously, normally I would never tell someone straight out that they aren't just cut out for poker, but you've finally brought up the extreme case to my attention. Bad beat after bad beat post, getting a bit old. Other poker ettiquette rules you've broken with other members here, that I won't make public. It's constructive, positive advice, since at the moment it seems that poker is just causing him more harm than good. All it seems to do for him is lose money and cause him considerable pain (making an assumption off his numerous bad beat posts). My best, constructive advice for him was that he should stop and find another thing to do. It is constructive if its for the best, even if it does mean that he should stop playing. Would you tell someone who's playing for thousands of dollars, that keeps losing money, and not accepting the fact that there are bad beats in poker to keep playing poker, even if it seems in your opinion that it is doing more bad than good for him? Of course not, you'd tell him to stop. This is same situation. That's all I did.

I wasn't being an "ass," like you said I was Stef. I was speaking my mind, giving advice, and my opinion.

You mistake was playing in such low stakes - draws are the holy grail to these players (even with the potential flush on board).

1) This is a bad beat and belongs in the Bad Beat section.

2) At these stakes, you have to expect plays like this. Most humans don't value their stacks at this level and will chase anything.

3) Shark, you need to grasp the concept of "not being results-oriented". You played correctly, you got your money in the pot with the best hand, and you just got beat by luck. There's nothing more you could have done. I used to worry about hands like this until I started to research probabilities. On average, AA pre-flop will win 80% of the time, but it WILL LOSE 20%. That's just the way it is. Grasp that and you'll be on your way to becoming a better player.

4) I'm glad Stef brought some attention to this thread. I don't know the history of the OP's previous posts, but I'm embarrased by the reaction to this one by some of our regulars. If you think this guy is hopeless, don't reply. Simple. If he has posted some inflamatory things or such, go reply in those threads. If a new member stumbles onto this post and reads your reactions here without knowing the history, it makes you all look REALLY bad and could scare away such new readers. If I were a newbie and this were the first post I ever read here, I'd be scared as hell to post here and might even leave. The point is, folks, think before you react. (This poor guy might just be a little slow on the uptake.)

I think that you started out playing the hand correctly but when he called the .22 cent bet on the flop a few warning signs need to go up with the texture of that flop that's out there. He could have a made flush, a made straight, two pair, a set, all of this are ahead of you at this point. He could also be on a flush draw, straight draw (stupidly, as he was), top pair, etc, which you are ahead of.

AA is a great hand but there are a lot of hands that beat you at this point. If it were me im not really sure if I'm beat at this point, there is a good possibility that I have the best hand, and I have the nut flush to fall back on if i'm behind, but those warning signs of his call tell me to keep the pot smaller, and re-evaluate on turn and river with what comes.

I concur.

I reckon I can beat most of the players on this forum, but I hope I won`t ever get so conceited as to put some poor rookie down. And, if I ever do, I hope the few who can beat me will tell me I`m an ass, because I will have deserved it.

Be nice. CC is a friendly forum.

And we can't even post all of the PMs that he sent to people asking for money.

There's a whole bunch of context leading up to this. I'm not justifying anything but before passing judgement please take the time to read the posts of some of those above trying to assist Luckyshark.

Shark's threads can be found here,

https://www.cardschat.com/search.php?searchid=279325&pp=25&page=4
I learned from Nick that forum search links expire after a few minutes, so now that link is no good.

Anyway, I don't want to search his posts. I believe you. Love, Love Love!!!

I'm still trying to figure out what asking for money and what he has done in other posts has to do with his first post in this thread...I know there was issues with his past posts and pm's....But is this not the moderators job to deal with such behaviour, I thought our job was to hit REPORT or pm a mod on such occassions....not take it upon ourselves.
