Here's an interesting hand I want to know what you guys would have done with.

I m sitting at .05/.1 $ NLHE with 10 $.

Everybody fold to me and I pick up AA from the cut off seat.
I make a standard raise to .35$ and the only the SB flat calls me. SB has about 7 $ in front of him

Flop is:
K 10 5 Rainbow.

He checks to me and I make a .90 $ bet. He then insta-raise me all in.
Pot is about 2$ at this point

What do I do?
I am fairly new to the table and do not have any read on the opponent. The only hand I was reaaly afraid of was K-10s.

Whats your oppinion on that?

How much $$ did you have left when the SB pushed?

Anyway, that is a huge overbet and at these limits there's a good chance the SB is trying to protect a K (probably a weak K at that) or something that started as a suited connector like KQ or JT. Maybe they think you're trying to exploit your position and they are just a blind defender. I would think it is highly unlikely to see KK or KT here very often as this type of bet is more likely to take down the pot more often than it gets called. Without a lot to go on, and especially if I have the SB covered in chips, I'm probably calling this.

you gotta call. If you lose your money then so beit. Worse case scenario he has KT. If he does then hope for the board to pair or catch an ace. In any event you are not dead in the water. Be strong with your aces. Also NEVER< NEVER<NEVER limp with aces. The poker gods will make you pay everytime.

Nobody hates AA. You might hate losing with AA, but you dont hate AA itself. There isnt one person that will go "Oh great. AA again, I hate this hand!" And then muck it. I know everyone cheers, out loud or in secret, whenever they see 2 beautiful Aces in front of them.

Anyway, tough decision. SB is probably holding a K at best. I think you have to big of a hand on a weak board to simply fold and with no read on the opponent, I'd call here and hope for the best.

I think you played it fine to this point.

When I've just sat down at the table, I'm not going to throw all my chips in without a big hand. Preflop AA is a monster, but now that you've both seen the flop, I'd fold this and wait for a better situation.

And, make notes on that guy.

KK probably will reraise preflop in this spot in order to get rid of you if you only have a weak ace. K10 might flat call a raise and then push to a bet, but I think it pretty much is someone who thinks you're just c-betting your blind steal hoping to take it down now. I call. You're ahead a lot of villains' pushing range here (I can see AK doing this also).

You are dead on Jeff =)
I made the call and he turned over AKo. I was glad I made the call.
Result of the hand?

Flop: K 10 5 rainbow
Turn: 10
River: K =(

Giving him King's full of ten to take the pot over my two pairs.
Oh well =)

yes i totally agree with this...if he had KK then he would re raise u all in or a big raise since a lot of times donks will play hands like A rag and hit A on flop. and yes another good point if he had K10 he would try to trap u and re raise u on the turn. and last sentence totally agree with that. a lot of players would push all in because they would be afraid of u hitting a str8 or two pair and he might have been thinking u were trying to blind steal. very very good point i agree with this

u should call, probably he has a k low kicker but not pocket K's since he would re-raise you preflop

Thats cool. Nice run of cards. I just cant believe it when people say they hate AA. How can you hate them? I know it hurts when you lose with aces, especially to a dominated/weaker hand. But hating them? Really? You dont get just a bit excited when you see those letters staring back at you?

Hating AK or JJ or something like that I can understand, but hating AA...I dont know. Im not calling you a liar, BTW. If you hate them, you hate them. Thats cool with me, i just find it a bit odd.
