(They had Ac8c)

Villian is aggressive player, im tag as usual.

I know I played this hand kinda poorly, I did not put them on an A especially after turn lol. Since I was playing shortstack, I figure I could just go all in on them, durrrrr.

Any advice on how else I could have played this? Much smaller river bet would have got a call for sure. A flop re-raise may have scared them off altogether - maybe not. Prolly should have bet the turn...goddamn it...

I'd guess he has something like K/Q (if he was very aggressive) but wouldn't be surprised with A/T or something like that.
When you bet the turn, he knew you had at least the Ace (which beat him) or if he had the Ace, he thought you had A/9 for the FH.

Either way, you weren't going to get much more $ into the pot and you should probably be thankful that he put that much in to begin with.

On the flop A you might reraise, you might get a call with the paired ace. You would hope he reraises you with that paired ace, but this guy ended up mucking trip Aces, no easy task, so you can't expect you could have got any more than u did.

In this situation, I would have personally min raised on the river just for the extra $20 villian may have called, but as played I liked the fact that you let him do all the betting :)

Ok thanks for comments, I guess you are correct it would be hard to milk him for more monayyy.

Yeah, min river bet would prolly get paid, thats the only thing I really regret.

His bets look real weak, 12 preflop, 25 on the flop on a c-bet, then 16 on the turn, then 20 both less than his flop bet.

He wasn't going to call any raise, however if you minibet the river here he may just shove on a bluff. He probably had a med or small pocket pair and "knew" he had to bet something every street but didn't want to invest too much once you called his flop c-bet.

I think it was well played by letting him do the betting although a raise on the turn might have gotten some more money too if he had a drawing hand or med pair.
