I think this can go either way. However, I don't think if you get AI you will be ahead here. It is really a FE vs. implied odds question. Since I don't think you are committed and a free card isn't a bad thing with your draw I like the check better. If you were in position I would like a bet better but I don't think a bet is bad here either.

If you bet 6 or so are are raised to 18, I like a push.

Since TB is drunk it will be a push on the chance of the straight flush!

Id bet 5$ and pray for a raise.

Is 3 bb your normal raise? If yes, ok. I d raise 3-4 here pf. On the flop bet 3/4 of the pot and if reraised play for their small stacks. It seems to me that you are in a really good shape here.

what hands are you afraid of so youd check, Threads?

If villain has set, we have 12 outs.

If villain has A9, were about 50-50, slight favourites (i think)

If villains has 76, were ahead.

if villain has overpair, were ahead

Even if villain has T8 we still have 11 outs

I hate checking because you want to build a pot.

I am not "afraid" of any hands but I believe if we are to get AI we will likely be drawing. Also, if we get raised on this flop we pretty much are looking at set's and two pairs so our FE isn't that strong.

So, I don't think we want to build a bit pot at this point. Although as I said, if I am betting I am shoving over the top of a raise and if I were last to act I would definitely bet in this situation.

Were ahead of 2 pairs, and flipping against a set.

But i dont think only those would raise.

Remember we raised UTG so if SB or other caller has caught any piece or draw on that board, and if hes in there with low cards, he can very well suspect we have overcards and missed and go for a raise.

Even an 8 could raise us here, as well as 88, A9, 98, 87, etc.....

Allow me to rephrase. If we push and get called we are likely to be drawing. That is what I mean, but I realize I didn't specify.
