this is a hand I was just part of but folded out of when I realized things were going to get crazy and I wouldn't profit from any of it. Now I thought I understood pot odds but from what I was just told after this hand, I should have called with my two pair, and then I shouldn't be suprised that someone would call with 7,2s. Any comments or ideas? Maybe I am totally off base on the subject.

USing pot odds as an "excuse"? No, that would be using pot odds for what they were made for.. Also, I would've called if I were you. Look at those limits.

Donkeys!

Dude, I really hate tables like this. You flop two pair only to see three other players willing to go all in with hands worse than yours. Being a serious player you had to suspect a really big hand, but no.......
The problem is even if you knew your ahead now you wouldnt like to call because against the three donkeys your chance to win is just 42.8%.
So if you want to play to build a BR you gotta hate this.

Now some thoughts:

When you asked why they play these hands zeloted referred to his preflop call which was absolutely correct, postflop he just thought he was ahead right now and shoved.

I cant blame you for not making the call, i mean why look at the odds, when its obvious your against a monster.

Perhaps some players can handel such tables, but to do this you need a big BR for this massive swings you'll face.

And now to my favorite, Wicked Prime. Of course hes the real master of the game and with his sharp reading skills he analized corectly that he was the only one with nothing at all at the moment and so made this easy all in call! Hes a hell of a genius, he has to tell me those great online tells hes detected.

Next time you post a hand, try leaving off the results. You'll get more varying opinions that way. Anyone can be "right" when they know how it ends.

The flop is tough. Normally, I'd say all that action means someone has a set so your fold was good. But at these limits, I've seen this kind of action happen with someone having A8 (top pair, top kicker) or even just a draw (like that straight). I'd say it's 50/50 on calling there. Depends on your read and your attitude towards your bankroll. That pot was surely large enough to try calling, though.

Thanks for the responses there were some things in the way the bets were made that I didn't see when the hand was played that I just caught after looking over the recap 10 times or so. I do see where zeleoted was able to justify using pot odds, but thanks to those wonderful online tells that I had put into my player notes I knew better than to get involved.

Next time I will leave the results out so that I can get more (varied) responses, when this was posted I was still in shock because of some of the hands I had seen today.

Raise the first bettor on the flop to make this hand easier. You have opponets behind you and at this level they will only fear a reraise and fold if they don't have a hand. The first bettor can have anything from a 67, A8 to a set. Try to isolate him here to make your decisions easier and better.

Why type that? If you think they are playing badly, why alert them to the fact? It makes you sound like a whinger, and you weren't even in the hand.

SB had to call for 5 cents. Moment shouldn't have been in the hand, and overplayed it terribly post flop, but there are lots of bad players like this, you'll get your turn at getting their money. Wicked Prime's call post flop, potentially tripling up on an open ended straight draw is as borderline as it gets.

Pot Limit micro levels is going to have a load of players to each hand, if you can't handle that and the inevitable swings, then don't play it any more.

I came off sounding like a dickhead but I was more perplexed because they "had" been playing fairly tight and passive, I really couldn't believe that any of them would call with what they had judging by the way they had been playing. I played the table for quite a while and in the first hour only 3 hands actually went to show down, not to mention the avg. pot size was something around $1.2

The vast majority of the players on NL$10 DONT NOTICE HOW YOU PLAY. Neither do the players on nl$25, some of the players on nl$50 and some of the players on nl$100 :) Dont fall into the trap of thinking that you have a great table image, you dont.
