I would like some help on this hand to see if I made the wrong decision on knowing to fold to this guys hand... which was really tough in 1-2 No limit.

Pre flop I have AQ I raise $12 everyone folds besides 2 other people. I'm in position on the button. Flop comes Q-J-4 rainbow. QJ checks, the other player checks, and I bet 25. QJ raises to $70, other player folds, and I flat call. Turn comes a 9 and QJ checks to me and I lead out and bet $80. QJ just flat calls and the river comes a Q. QJ shoves (has me covered) I had about $225 left and I couldn't really get off of it. is this a bad call? It put me in a really tough spot just because how the hand played out. I'm usually not stuck to hands like this especially with a board like this but I couldn't see him having K-10 here or QJ... :/

Having position doesn't do much for us if we don't use the info we gather. TPTK has to get out of the way of a c/r. Yeah, it's heart breaking, but we have to fold. His play screams a set, or 2 pair. Good job Villain on this hand.

Without enough info on villain stats/tendencies,I would really consider a fold after the C/R because we can also include JJ,QQ in villain range with that kind of betting pattern.

well cole he played his hand well. i think what you shouldve done is when he raised you on the flop bet you shouldve reraised to see where u were at which would most likely make him go all in. and then u cn fold and save some money. but hey it was a tough hand i dont think u played bad.

Flop call is ok I think. What does he raise with is the question, top pair or better, draws with overcards, pure bluffs ?

The turn bet not so much, you are pretty shallow already (179$ pot and 305$ behind if I got that right?) and TPTK is not strong enough to bet for value here : the bluffs he has would fold, draws are getting an OK price with this sizing, everything else that calls beats you unless you think he would call with top pair and a worse kicker.

Checking behind and seeing if he bets out the river and how big is what I would do.
Now you put yourself in a much tougher spot than it could have been.

mmmh, is a hard call on the river but all the combos in my head of k10 are suited so he only would have 4 of those he could be trying to get some value with some KQ AQ also, maybe he got a set of 4, i think jacks are 3bet

Alright couple things here I will point out.

1. The flop... what can our opponent be raising us with here? This is where you decide what type of player your up against. Are we playing against an aggressive guy who can raise draws etc?? If not then its a tight fold.

2. Turn well since our opponent raised us on the flop and checks on the turn.. WE DONT BET HERE AND WE CHECK BEHIND.
We open ourselves up for a check-raise and really we need pot control here.

Stacks go in.. its simple did draws get there??? But really we shouldn't be facign shoves if you played the above and its a simple fold.

Use the information we get.
