I would just call because he could have a Full boat, or even a bigger kicker.

Push?? What's he calling with that you beat? He's played the hand pretty weirdly but unless you think he's on a total bluff, you should fold.

Tough to fold here. But a call leaves you putting about 1/3 your stack in the hand, right?

$2 pre flop, $2 flop,$2 turn, $6.50 on river for $12.50 total invested you started the hand with $39? leaves you with $26-$27?

if you call $5.50 more you're down to $20-$21?

$30 pot roughly? $5.50 more to see with trips? hard not to just call.

you could be looking at a boat, in which you only lost 1/3 not too bad forholding trip Aces.:(

He could be hoping for a split too w A rag and you got him beat.:)

Pushing all in here is questionable, I think you got good value for the hand.:D

BTW what happened?

Definitely a no to any kind of reraise here. Most hands he could have pretty much all beat you. With this much in the pot and seeing his cards for information its worth the call. I think he has QQ, AQ, 99 or AK. Maybe he thinks you have a Q and he has KK but hes not calling your allin with KK. KK could also explain his 2$ bets cause he was afraid of the A. there are a few others he could have like Ax but i think those are most likely.

^^^ This. Never ever push or re-raise here! I shudder at the thought of it. Even a call is questionable. If you know the guy's a decent player, it's a fold, because under those circumstances you're beat here well over 95% of the time.

But without reads, or with reads that the guy's a screw up who doesn't know what he's doing, you're getting such a good price that blah, guess it's a call. I don't know what we could beat that fits his line, even a donk line, except a weaker suited A that doesn't make a full house (again, only if he's a big ol' donk).

We're behind more hands than we're ahead of here. This is a really standard call (I can't fold this given the pot odds).

My thoughts exactly, but afterwards I thought I might have lost some value by not raising. I guess I wasn't thinking straight, because now that I look at it, it's an obv call. There was absolutely no way I was folding now because of the pot odds, and I thought I was ahead at this point.

He said afterwards that he didn't see the board pair at the end there, and then called himself and idiot.

I don't know whether to believe him, or think that he was tryin to set up the table for later, but I do know he busted about a few hands later and reloaded to about $30. I stayed only a few more minutes after that because I had doubled up by then.

well that actually did cross my mind and does make alot of sense. He still played his hand horribly. You think if he made a big bet on turn like he should of you call?

you played it pretty well, I would have been tempted to push, but I would have tried to recall the previous pots he had been in and what sort of player they were. Were there any reads or indications that he might play such a weak hand so strongly?

BTW U R SMOKIN HOT!!!

Definitely would not have folded. Trip aces seemed pretty good and due to his odd betting I would have considered a raise but most likely in that situation a call would be the right option.
