full tilt poker - No Limit Hold'em Cash Game - $0.05/$0.10 Blinds - 6 Players - (LegoPoker Hand History Converter)
Hero (SB): $22.90
BB: $9.35
UTG: $10.55
MP: $14.20
CO: $13.60
BTN: $9.85
Reads: Villian is pretty Tight/Aggressive. He's not in a ton of pots, but when he is I notice he's a bit more aggressive than usuall (5-6 times BB raises rather than the standard 3-4). When he's shown he's shown solid hands. His VP$IP is 11, plus he's multitabling 12 tables so I don't think he's playing anything but strong hands.
Preflop: Hero is dealt

UTG raises to $0.35, MP calls $0.35, CO folds, BTN calls $0.35, Hero calls $0.30, BB folds
Flop: ($1.50)

Hero bets $1.00, 2 folds, BTN raises to $3.00, Hero folds
Uncalled bet of $2.00 returned to BTN
Pot Size: $3.50 ($0.35 Rake)

I think the fold is the correct move there, but I'm trying to figure out what a realistic holding of his is that warrants that big of a raise. Is it possible I laid down the best hand to someone with a weaker jack, say KJ? With a rainbow flop and the preflop action, I'm thinking set. 2 pair would be really weak for this guy and given his aggressive style I think he would've reraised JJ's preflop, same with any of the bigger pocket pairs. Pocket 88's-10's may be a possibility as well. Hmmm, what do you all think?

I think this is a good fold. 12 tables? yea, he's either got KK, QQ, or a set. I can't imagine someone playing 12 tables and holding anything you beat at this point.

i think this is a bad fold given TAG description. AA-JJ all should/would have reraised preflop. realistically, you should be beat by only two hands, and those sets smooth call this flop a lot of the time because the board is so dry. KJ alone is probably as likely as any of the other hands combined. so i really think this play is pretty paranoid/weak and you're folding the best hand a lot

This is a little odd in my mind...I see KJ/QJ type hands making this play, but at the same time we're showing significant strength leading into the PF raiser, and I would expect stronger hands...

The fold does seem weak though. I'm just hung over, ignore me :/

With a VP$IP of 11, can you really put him on KJ ?

With his incredible PF odds and position, yes. A 'good' player should be calling with a lot worse here, and possibly squeezing too.

In the SB with 3 callers, I would have reraised preflop. If anything, you might get one or two players out of the pot. The flop is a great flop for you. Reraise that raise! I doubt he would call your reraise with J, 5, J, 2, A, 3, or A, 5. If he had Pocket fives or pocket twos. Well, you'll found out if he reraises your raise or calls.

In this situation I really doubt the set, and I doubt the KK, QQ, AA theory. I think this is a hand where he has A,K or A,Q with the possibilty of 10's. He's trying to push you off and protect his hand and it has seemingly worked. Because he's playing 12 tables I just really feel like it's one of those 3 hands here.

Thankfully, this is not something that's habit for me, I think I was thrown more by who was in the pot than anything.

Thanks for the input guys, the more I think about it, the more I think I laid down the best hand. :(

Oh well, live and learn as they say.

Yep. I think you should have called or raised here. If he's a tight player, and he didnt raise you preflop when you bet, most likely he's not holding AA or KK. I think what he did to you was use his tight image to try and steal a pot, and you fell for it. If you're so scared, at least call and see what he does. Most likely, yes, you did have the best hand and needed to stay in the hand.
